The brand and the company SHOEI were established on March 17, 1959, by its founder Eitaro Kamata in Japan, where the company started producing motorcycle helmets in 1958. This manufacturing establishment’s roots are traced back to 1954 when Mr. Eitaro Kamata established "Kamata Polyester Company" which used to produce safety helmets for the construction industry use.
