Sante Mazzarolo started his career as a leather craftsman who used to make leather boots. In 1963, he formed the brand Alpinestars making hiking boots and ski boots. The brand Alpinestars is named after the flower Stella Alpina (Edelweiss), which actually grows in the high of the mountains where the company was founded.
