Electric scooters such as the eWave Eco are the future of the world. There will come a time when combustion engine motorcycles are seen as taboo. This is because, more and more people are opting for cleaner and eco-friendly options, as we are getting more and more affected by global warming. Bikes such as the eWave Eco are a breath of fresh air in the industry. That is why it feels great to see these scooters in the market.
Runner Automobile Limited started its journey back in 2000. Since Runner has developed from a single company to a complete empire of industries. Runner in Bangladesh is known for being a motorcycle manufacturer and a motorcycle importer. Runner prides itself in producing bikes that are “Made in Bangladesh”. Runner has only one scooter in their complete lineup, and that is the Runner Skooty 110. However, they do have 3 different eco-friendly electric scooters in their lineup as well.

In the year 2000 Runner Automobiles Limited, the first company to be a "Motorcycle Manufacturer and Exporter" started its journey to Bangladesh. Over the past 20 years, Runner Motorcycles has been constantly expanding its operations across the nation and has been a leader within the 100cc submarket and was the first company to successfully export motorcycles overseas.

Today, Runner Group chose to enter the exciting and risky realm of entrepreneurialism. The company assembled motorcycles by creating facilities for bikes that cater to the nation's market for motorbikes. They also assembled motorcycles under the Dayang brand. Dayang label by getting them damaged in pristine condition from China. Then, Runner opted to manufacture parts for two-wheelers.
In just a few months it established its own brand name in the domestic market, which is "Runner Motorcycles". Runner Motorcycles officially got approval as a manufacturer of bikes in 2011 and is now operating modern manufacturing techniques at its facility in Bhaluka that has the capacity to produce 100,000 bikes per year with the assistance of more than 300 factory employees who are agile and sells more than 30000 units annually.
The factory is equipped with a press shop and weld shop, a paint shop engine assembly conveyor car assembly conveyor quality control of components central quality control section OBL & stores, and development. The facility is equipped with the most sophisticated testing facility for components. This ensures that the brand's focus is on high-end best quality products, and continues to grow on it. The government also has come up with tariffs and tax rebates for the import of parts of bikes to aid the idea of establishing manufacturing facilities.
Runner Motorcycles is the market-leading brand in the sub 100CC market for two-wheelers with models that range from 80CC to 165CCthat meet the requirements of all customers demographics. It was the first to introduce retail financing for the two-wheeler market and allowed Bangladeshi riders to purchase their dream bikes with a low-cost EMI scheme. Alongside the retail finance, Runner Motorcycles has created an industry-standard with its amazing after-sales services network throughout the country.
Over 200 service centers are open throughout the country. The company, which first began with exporting two-wheelers to Nepal and Bhutan is the sole two-wheeler company in Bangladesh that has brought this kind of pride to the country. Furthermore, Runner Motorcycle is the only brand in Bangladesh that is authorized to make motorcycles up to 500CC. It has also successfully made as well as exported its product dubbed Hawk 200, which is a 200CC motorcycle.
Apart from producing its brand in the United States, the company is also producing American label UM and is also is the sole distributor for Italian top two-wheeler brands- Vespa as well as Aprilia. Additionally, the company has introduced another brand of premium motorcycles, KTM (an Austrian flagship) that offers a premium transportation experience for Bangladeshi customers.
Key Features:
The EWave Eco is one of the few commercially available Bangladeshi-made electric motorcycles. This scooter looks like a commuter scooter. It gets the pipe handlebar, the large tank design, the sporty headlight design. This scooter looks very good and overall, it is very interesting to ride as well.
The EWave Eco does not come with any chain sprocket. This means this is a rear motor-driven motorcycle. This allows the scooter to be more efficient, but less fast. This means that this scooter may be slower than the Akij Durbar or the Akij Durdanto, but it will be more efficient than both of those scooters. The no-fuel system also allows the scooter to be more eco-friendly.
The EWave Eco comes in only one color. That is:
White.
The EWave Eco is quite stylish, as it has a few attractive decals.
The EWave Eco comes with a fairly good brake, suspension, and tire setup. The overall setup is as good as a traditional motorcycle. This makes this scooter better than almost all electric scooters.
Another factor of electric scooters is the sound. Electric scooters virtually have no sound at all, which prevents the pollution of sound.
Physical Attributes:
The EWave Eco is expected to come with a very average seat height which riders above 5’3” can easily ride. The overall scooter is quite small, which allows it to squeeze through the traffic. This scooter has a fairly small body.
The height, length, and width of the EWave Eco are virtually unavailable. From a visual standpoint, the scooter is expected to be similar to most commuter scooters. The weight of the EWave Eco is expected to be an average weight that people can easily maneuver.
Motor and drive:
The eWave Eco is a beautiful bike with a lot of good features. The capacity of the bike is about 72V and 20AH. The range of the scooter is expected to be around 40-50km. The bike is expected to be reliable and comfortable. The scooter is expected to charge in about 6-7hours of time. The scooter is fully electric which makes it very environment friendly and produces no greenhouse gas.
The scooter does not get any gear, which makes it very easy to ride and learn. The scooter’s top speed is expected to be around 45-50kmph.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The EWave Eco comes with a single disc braking system. The front of the scooter gets a disc brake, which is great, as it helps the braking and has better braking performance than a drum brake. The rear wheel gets a drum braking system, which is a bit disappointing but is accepted. The overall braking of the bike is improved with a CBS system; however, the bike does not get any CBS.
The EWave Eco comes with basic telescopic suspensions at the front and dual shocks at the rear. The front telescopic suspension is expected to perform decently just like most scooters. The rear dual shock suspension is expected to perform decently on bumpy roads. However, the scooter may not perform as well in the corners.
The EWave Eco comes with a very unique tire setup. The front tire and rear tires are 90/90-10 sections. The tire setup may not be the best setup out there, as this kind of tire setup has not been tested or tried out. However, for a scooter with this power, it will be enough.
Target Audience:
The EWave Eco is for the young generation and the youngsters of Bangladesh. This scooter is great for people who want a commuting scooter for themselves, and also want to get a scooter that will not harm the environment. The scooter is for the people who care for the earth and also want a bit of style.
Competitors:
The competitors of the commuter electric scooters aren’t many, but there are other scooters that are in this range. They are:
Runner Skooty 110.
Pegasus Victory 80.
Roadmaster Rex.
H Power Start 80.
The EWave Eco is a magnificent electric scooter. This scooter holds up to its name with its features and specifications. The EWave Eco is one of the few commuter electric scooters. This makes it quite unique and desirable.
