Hero Ignitor is a brand new design from Hero. Hero Ignitor comes with i3S technology which is a Hero patented technology which they believe will save fuel. 125cc segment is a very interesting segment as it provides the comfort and ease of a 100 cc bike and at the same time, it delivers the excitement of a 150cc motorcycle. I personally am a fan of this segment for the value it delivers.
Hero Ignitor Test Ride Review - ENGINE
The engine of the bike is a brand new unit. The 125cc air-cooled single cylinder engine is now vertically positioned which helps to produce 11 BHP @ 7500 RPM & 11 NM of Torque @ 6500 RPM. It is now BSIV compliance & the engine also gets i3S technology. You can get both the kick & self-starter with the bike.
When the i3S technology is turned ON than in traffic when the engine will be sitting ideal for 10 seconds it will turn itself OFF the engine. The engine will restart once you press the clutch of the engine. You can turn OFF the i3S system if you think that this automatically turning OFF of the engine is something you don’t like. I3S technology also saves fuel; you may find its value when you ride too often in the congested traffic in Dhaka city. The engine is smooth and you can feel the vibration once you rev the throttle at high RPM. The engine sound is refined, the 4-speed gearbox at first stays a bit hard but you will get over it once you are done with the 1st service of the bike.
Hero Ignitor Test Ride Review - STYLING & DESIGN
Hero spent time behind designing this new motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with a halogen headlight but that is an AC unit. This is once place Hero needs to improve as many bikes these days come with DC headlight so it is something we hope Hero too will improve in the future. Hero made a well-sculpted fuel tank with side air scoop; they didn’t make this bike aggressive but gave it an executive looks. I liked the way they designed the LED tail light, it will attract the attention of the biker behind.
They still kept the same old switch gears in the bike as we have found in Hero Glamour, there is an analog speedometer but a digital unit beside it which will show the Odometer & the fuel gauge of its 13-liter fuel tank. They gave the bike semi double-cradle chassis which is lighter. This frame helped bring the bike weight to 127 kg only, which is good for riding both on city & on the highway. They also added a rear tire guard to the motorcycle which will help in the rainy season.
Colour & finishing of the bike is a bit disappointing on the rear grab rail & chock switch of the motorcycle, this is another sector where this motorcycle needs to improve.
Hero Ignitor Test Ride Review - WHEELS, BRAKES & TYRES
For the first time, Hero added tubeless tires in this segment something a need in Bangladesh now across all segment also the rear tire is 90 sections wide which will give more grip and stability to the motorcycle.
The bike gets 240mm front disc brake and 130 mm rear drum brake. The braking performance of the bike is pretty good in its segment. I have done high-speed braking of carrying speed around 80-90 kmph & found out that the stability of the bike stays under control.
The bike gets front telescopic suspensions & the rear suspensions are 5 step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. Suspensions feedbacks are good both from the front & rear. Hero Ignitor Test Ride Review - RIDING EXPERIENCE First of all looking at the bike I think currently it is one of the smart motorcycles in Bangladesh in this segment, it gives you an executive feel. The riding experience is FUN. You can ride this bike all day long and you won’t get bored or tired. The upright handlebar also helps to maneuver the bike between the traffic.
The bike has only 4-speed gearbox & on the highway, you miss that 5th gear. The gear ratio is short and you will find a boost on the 4th gear. On the top gear, I hit a top speed of 110 kmph. I received a mileage of 52 -55 kmpl in Dhaka city & on the highway you can take that mileage between 58-60 kmpl if you don’t ride in an aggressive manner. Initial braking performance is good, it isn’t aggressive but in this segment, I found it good enough. The suspensions are soft and you will get good feedback both in the city & on the highway. The throttle response is linear & soft.
For city riding, this is good in maneuvering in congested traffic & because it bike has a low saddle height you can ride easily with a pillion even if you are a short biker. You will get some vibration from the engine but that is at high RPM. This vibration won’t bother you too much. Due to AC headlight, your confidence will be lower when the speed gets pass 80 kmph on the highway, and it is around this speed when the bike starts to shake a bit due to air turbulence. The bike is smooth & refine. You can feel that while riding the bike at low speed or at high speed.
The wider rear tire also helps for the cornering of this motorcycle & the tubeless tires will also give you the confidence to ride on bad roads. Because it has a saree guard so female pillion can sit with keeping their legs on the same side comfortably. Hero Ignitor Test Ride Review Pros:

- AC operated headlight not too good for highway riding at high speed.
- Colour & Finishing of some of the spare parts needs improvement like chock switch & rear grab rail.
- Rear tire guard hits the mudguard when the bike goes over speed breaker with a pillion.
