Today mark the launch of the most awaited bike of 2015, Bajaj Pulsar AS150. The bike was launched in India back in May 2015 by Bajaj Auto Ltd, since then we heard the fairly tale of it coming in Bangladesh & after a wait of nearly 7 months finally the best selling 150cc motorcycle name tag ‘Pulsar’ is finally in Bangladesh. Being a Bikebd’s editor for the past 2.5 years I have never seen so much CRAZE among the bikers in Bangladesh what I saw in the past 2-3 weeks about the launch of Bajaj Pulsar AS150.

Though for nearly 10 days of more we have seen few Pulsar AS150 on the road, but today Uttara Motors Ltd officially launch the bike. The program was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. The program was attended by the Chairman & Managing Director of Uttara Motors Ltd Mr. Matiur Rahman & Chief Guest was Mr. Amir Hossain Amu (Ministry of Industries, Govt of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh).

The program was attended by many press and digital media. The program was also attended by senior dignitaries from Bajaj Auto Ltd, authorized dealers, valued customers, press and electronic media and other distinguished guests. Bajaj Pulsar AS150 is a completely new bike, Bajaj Pulsar 150 AS which they introduced to the world as an all new ‘Adventure sports’ bike, under the tagline of ‘The Adventure Never Stops’. It has a air cooled, with two spark plug and 4 valve DTS-I engine which produces 16.8 BHP which is equal to Yamaha R15V2 and 13 NM of Torque which is more than that of Honda CBR150R, so far the engine carries all the DNA of being POWERFUL, but am sad that they gave it a 5 speed gearbox.

The styling of the bike is just too epic, Bajaj is always well know to produce good looking bikes and this time there is no different, they did everything to make the bike look ‘perfect’, they gave clip on handle bar to the bike, with speedometer straight from Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. It is equipped with a digital speed meter, trip meter, odometer, tacho meter and a clock.

The all new Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 comes with a self and kick start, both. It also has a pass switch, stand alarm, pillion footrest and grab rail. It is equipped with an engine killing switch and a step up or split seats, it also got a LED tail lamp and turn signal light.

The headlight is awesome, for the second time in Bangladesh we are having projection headlamp as standard, with a normal headlight which is 55W. The bike have perimeter frame, which gives high stiffness for better handling. The bike’s braking system is restricted to a front single disc brake of 240 mm and a rear drum brake of 130 mm . The bike only has a 12 litre fuel tank & it weigh 143 kg.

The front of the bike is using a suspension of 37mm Telescopic Front Fork with Antifriction Bush whilst the rear is using a suspension of Nitrox Mono Shock Absorber with piggy back gas canister, this is a modern high performance mono shock used to give your bike the perfect balance and stability. The bike also features tubeless tyres as standard which is the first time Pulsar bikes are getting. Like KTM Duke the bike also features a under belly exhaust, something which is new in Bangladesh. The build quality is fantastic.

Chairman & Managing Director of Uttara Motors Ltd Mr. Matiur Rahman in his speech requested the government to lower down the tax on motorcycles and also to allow bike importers and distributors of Bangladesh to import bikes up to 250cc in Bangladesh. He also said that very soon Uttara Motors will go in joint venture with Bajaj Auto Ltd and will start their own manufacturing plant at Savar.

The event ended with a good stunt show performed with proper safety gears which were nice to see and made the crowd happy. The whole show was hosted by model Rumana Malik Munmun who really worked hard with her presentation to make the show as alive as possible.

It was a good event and for the 5^th times in one year we are glad the BIKEBD got invitation to a launch program of a brand new motorcycle in Bangladesh, for many it won’t mean too much but for us it means a lot to bring the news of the bike companies towards the bike riders of Bangladesh, which is our core work.

It’s a real promising sight for Bajaj Motorcycles in Bangladesh, a month back they launched Discover 150F & today they launch Bajaj Pulsar AS150, very soon they will launch Avenger Street 150 in Bangladesh. With other motorcycles companies boosting their lineup its nice o see that Bajaj is upping their game and we hope that 2016 comes out good for the motorcycle industry in Bangladesh after last two years of disappointment. I still think that the price of the bike is 10-15 K more but as this is PULSAR I don’t think many will complain about it.
