New Championship Announced for Naked and Super-Naked Motorcycles

Last updated on 17-Jun-2026 , By Badhon Roy

The popularity of naked motorcycles has continued to grow worldwide. Now that trend is set to gain further momentum on the racetrack. British motorcycle racing club Bemsee has announced the launch of two new racing championships, the "Naked Cup" and the "Super Naked Trophy" scheduled to begin in 2027.

The championships will be open to riders competing on a range of high-performance naked and super-naked motorcycles. According to Bemsee the new classes will feature dedicated race grids allowing competitors to race exclusively against similar machines rather than sharing track time with other categories.

Super-naked motorcycles typically combine the powerful engines and advanced chassis technology of superbikes with a stripped-back design that excludes full race fairings. While their performance often rivals that of superbikes they occupy a distinct segment within the motorcycle market. The new championships are designed specifically to showcase these machines in a competitive racing environment.

Ahead of the full championship launch Bemsee plans to introduce the category on a trial basis during the 2026 season. Interested riders on eligible motorcycles will be able to participate from Round 6 of the season scheduled to take place at Donington Park on July 25-26.

The trial events will not award championship points or titles. They will provide riders with an opportunity to gain track experience, evaluate motorcycle performance, refine race strategies, and experiment with chassis and tyre setups before the championship officially begins.

Bemsee has said that further details regarding technical regulations, machine eligibility, engine capacity limits, class structures, and registration procedures will be released in the coming months. The organisation has also invited expressions of interest from riders, racing teams, and industry stakeholders.

Many motorcycle racing enthusiasts in the United Kingdom have called for a dedicated racing platform for high-performance naked motorcycles for years. Bemsee's latest initiative is being viewed as a significant step toward meeting that demand and could further strengthen the presence of naked motorcycles in British motorcycle racing in the years ahead.
