VERDICT
Bajaj Auto never tried to follow any particular trend rather they tried to make a trend in the motorbike business of the subcontinent and get others to follow it. In May 2015 Bajaj introduced a very new motorcycle the Bajaj Pulsar AS150 along with AS200 and RS200.
After 7 months the AS150 was launched in Bangladesh. Sadly, the other two bike was not due to the CC limit in Bangladesh. The AS150 offers the best price to performance ratio in the 150cc segment. It has a refined 149.5cc air-cooled engine which produces 16.8 BHP of peak power and 13NM of peak torque. More about the bike is discussed below.

Design & Features: While designing the bike the engineers have actually thought of the first impression of the AS150. The overall design of the bike is very eye-catchy. The basic design of the bike is based on the Pulsar 200NS with added bodywork. It features a quarter fairing rather than full fairing which gives the bike more ground clearance.

The headlamp is somehow similar to the Pulsar 200NS but it features a projector lamp above it there is a mildly smoked windscreen is fitted. The quarter fairing is multi-unit which has various cuts and edges that give the bike a more appealing look.
The muscular tank with a rubber tank pad craves every attraction it can get. The bike also features clip-on handlebars, an underbelly exhaust, split seats, star-shaped 10-spoke alloy wheels and a LED tail lamp. The switchgear quality is very impressive and the grips are of high quality.
The semi-digital instrument cluster is equipped with an analog tachometer, a clock, a digital speedometer, odometer, trip meter, a fuel gauge and some indicators. The RPM limiter is now in 9500 RPM. The fit and finish quality is up to the mark and the build quality is satisfactory.

Engine & Performance: The powerhouse of the Bajaj Pulsar AS150 is an all-new 149.5cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4 valves, SOHC, twin-spark, DTS-i carbureted engine (Source). It took almost two years to develop the engine. It can produce 17 BHP of peak power @ 9500 rpm and 13 Nm of peak torque @ 7000 rpm which is transferred to the ground through a super-smooth 5-speed gearbox.
The gear ratio is well distributed as well as the clutch is light and easy to operate. The top speed obtained is above 130 KMPH and there is no official mileage claim. This powerhouse feeds of a 12L fuel tank with 2.4L in Reserve.

Ride, Handling and Braking: The most impressive feature of the AS150 is its ride quality. Being an Adventure Sports it has a lot to live in and believe us it has a lot to offer too. It can go on-road and off-road effortlessly. The rider can go cornering around the hill track or go on a long highway trip or can go mudding with it. The rider won’t be disappointed anywhere.
The 1363mm wheelbase is there to help it with better handling both city traffic and highway. The perimeter frame gives the AS150 that brilliant handling dynamics and also makes the bike 1KG lighter than the Pulsar 150 despite adding the quarter fairing. The MRF 80/100-17″46 P Tubeless front tire and 110/80-17″ 57 P Tubeless rear tire offers an adequate grip for living any twists on the road. The suspension setup is telescopic with an anti-friction bush at the front and a Nitrox mono shock absorber with a Canister at the rear.
AS150 comes with a 240mm disk brake at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear. The breaks have good bite though more bite would be more appreciated.

Riding Ergonomics & pillion Comfort: Being an Adventure Tourer the AS150 has to be comfortable to take on long tours. The Clip-on handlebars and mildly rear-set footpegs result in a sporty yet comfortable riding posture which is good for day-to-day city riding as well as for long tours.
The fuel tank has some knee space meaning one can anchor themselves to the bike while leaning with the bike which bumps up the confidence of the rider. The seat height is a bit tall for shorter riders. The split seat setup means the pillion will sit higher than the rider.

The rear seat has enough space for an average size pillion. There is a split grab rail for the pillion to grab on to. The suspension system of the bike is on the softer side which is very much welcomed for long rides and riding through broken roads.
Conclusion: The bike is an Adventure Sports Tourer which means it builds to take some hits. That means Bajaj Pulsar AS150 can take city riding as well as long tours without sweating. This is a highly recommended bike.
