VERDICT
Most motorcycles manufactured in China have a hard time to make their way into the motorcycle industry, due to the bad name of maximum Chinese products. In Bangladesh, the story is no different. Hence, when Keeway started their journey in Bangladesh, it took them some time to make their case and debunk the myths. Now, Keeway is one of the top contenders in the motorcycle industry in multiple countries. The Keeway RKS 125 is one of the products of Keeway available in Bangladesh.
Keeway is a European-registered motorcycle manufacturer, owned by the Qianjiang Group of China. Keeway made its way to Bangladesh and is presently reaching the public through Aftab Automobiles Ltd. The Keeway RKS 125 is a 125cc bike of the Keeway RK series. It has made quite a name for itself as a commuter bike since its inception.

Key Features:

The Keeway RKS 125 was made with the DNA of the Keeway RKS 150. It almost looks identical to its elder brother. The Keeway RKS 125 was made to be a sporty commuter bike. The design does not scream out “COMMUTER” like other boring commuter bikes of this segment, rather it looks very sporty and interesting with the muscular design.
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with basic but very bright headlights. Both the headlight and taillight are halogen bulbs. The taillight looks very stylish and sharp. The indicators are also very sharp which contributes to it not being boring.
The Keeway RKS 125 comes in two colors. They are:
1) Black.
2) Red.
Both the colors come in a gloss finish and look very well mature. The bike comes with very minimal decals, which are only the branding and the strip through the middle of the tank.
The most interesting aspect of the Keeway RKS 125 is the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster includes everything basic and more. It comes with a manual gear position indicator, a clock, and many more. This bike has the instrument cluster that any beginner or advanced rider would appreciate.
Physical Attributes:
The Keeway RKS 125 has an extremely low saddle height, of 760mm. The seat may be comfortable for riders under the height of 5’7”, but for bikers with height more than that, the bike will be very uncomfortable to cope with. The bike also comes with a huge fuel capacity of 16liters. The fuel capacity makes the bike extremely suitable for highway rides.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Keeway RKS 125 are 2090mm, 760mm, 1090mm, and 125kg respectively. The bike is not very heavy, nor is it very light, but it is of the perfect weight to be a 125cc bike. The bike also has a wheelbase of 1350mm, which makes it fairly balanced.
Engine and Transmission:
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 125cc engine. The engine is air-cooled and is carbureted. The engine pumps out 11.3BHP of power at 8500rpm, and 10Nm of torque at 7000rpm. The torque kicks in quite late, so the bike is not going to be very aggressive, rather will be very smooth and have slow acceleration. The bike is also very fuel-efficient; it has an average mileage of around 50kmpl.
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch. The bike also has a 5-speed gearbox, which also increases the power delivery at the top end.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with a disc-drum setup. The front is a disc brake, the safety profile of the bike instantly increases. But since the disc is small, pushing the brake lever hard may jerk the bike very hard. The rear being drum, it can be expected that most veteran riders will opt for the front brake as their primary brake.
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with telescopic forks on the front, which are covered with an ugly fork spring designed cover. The forks have a travel of 110mm, which will give ample support on the bumpy roads of the cities of Bangladesh. The rear has a spring-loaded oil-filled telescopic suspension. The rear suspension has a travel of 30mm, which is going to be very uncomfortable for pillions.
The Keeway RKS 125 comes with alloy wheels. The front and the rear have tires of 90/17 and 120/17 sections. The rear tire may seem small but is perfect for the type of bike this is. The rear tire and the front tire have a very well-adjusted combination in terms of size.
Target Audience:
The Keeway RKS 125 is for the regular commuter. The person who wishes to buy a bike for the sole purpose of commuting and maybe some short trips out of town. The bike is well built and will be able to withstand the tortures of the city traffic and the bumpy roads of Bangladesh. New riders just getting to know the ropes of riding will also like this bike and will also find this bike to be easy to learn on.
Competitors:
There is a whole list of competitors of the Keeway RKS 125, but we will be mentioning the top contenders below.
- Bajaj Discover 125.
- TVS Stryker 125.
- Hero Glamour.
- Honda CB Shine.
