For NS 160 Bajaj added a new engine. They used a 160cc engine and that engine can produce 15.3 BHP @ 8500 RPM & 14.6 NM of Torque @ 6,500 RPM. It has 4 valves & twin spark plug.  It uses a 5-speed gearbox to bring the power on the rear wheels.

The key feature of the engine is the oil cooling system. NS160 is the only bike in this segment that has this oil cooling system in the engine. Here the engine uses the engine oil as a coolant which circulates inside the engine for lubrication. Only very few motorcycles has oil cooling in their motorcycles in this segment.
