On the dawn of 17^th  July bikers read an article at our website regarding Bangladesh government giving permission for manufacturing or importing motorcycles up to 165 cc which previously was 155 cc (Source). Since then there were many queries about which new bikes will be launch in Bangladesh & their price so we decided to give out some insight about the expected price & launching date of the upcoming 165cc Motorcycles in Bangladesh.

Giving permission for motorcycles up to 165cc is like giving a glass of water in a desert where you had no food or water for near about 12 hours!  Still from my side am happy as the revolution started in the motorcycle industry. Hopefully slowly slowly we will get higher cc motorcycles in Bangladesh & at the same time cost of motorcycles will come down because most motorcycle companies will be going into manufacturing. With permission of up to 165cc motorcycles in Bangladeshwe can see that 5 new motorcycles will be able to enjoy their invitation legally in Bangladesh.

Honda CB Hornet:

Expected launching time: November-December 2017 Expected Price: 220,000 – 240,000 BDT Honda CB Hornet is buzzing & currently grabbing many attentions among the motorcycle lovers in Bangladesh. One key reason is that this will be the first Honda motorcycles from India which looks aggressive & it will be in the premium segment racing straight with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 155 & Yamaha FZS V2 Fi. We are still waiting to know whether they will introduce CBS (Combo Braking System), AHO (Always Headlight ON) in Bangladesh or not. CB Hornet will be a game changer as we have already seen with Honda Livo.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160:

Expected Launching time: October – November 2017 Expected Price: 225,000 – 250,000 BDT Let’s be honest Bajaj Pulsar AS150 wasn’t as much as a success in Bangladesh as was Pulsar 150 DTSI. AS150 become so unpopular that they discontinued the bike in India & hence they launched Bajaj Pulsar NS160.

This is a small brother of NS200 & is equipped with oil cooled engine which is new for Bajaj to introduce in this segment. From the front it looks aggressive & I personally think that this will be more popular among the bikers in Bangladesh then AS150.

TVS Apache RTR160

Expected Launching time: October – November 2017 Expected Price: 200,000 – 230,000 BDT TVS Apache RTR gained lots of popularity among the bikers in Bangladesh due to its sheer speed & to good mileage. Another advantage of the bike was its height which was helpful to many short height riders. Currently in India TVS is testing brand new RTR160 (2018) which will have near about the same looks like RTR200 4V. We don’t know whether TVS Bangladesh will wait for that bike or they will launch the current model of RTR 160 but my assumption is TVS will launch 2017 RTR160 in Bangladesh come end of the year.

Yamaha R15 V3:

Expected Launching time: Mid August Expected Price: 540,000 – 560,000 BDT For those who will be asking nope R15 V3 won’t be introduce by ACI Motors who are the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Bangladesh but it will be coming through the hand of ERS Global, a motorcycle importer.

The problem with Yamaha R15 V3 is that the bike is only 155.1 cc so even though one unit did come in Bangladeshis sample the importer couldn’t do any type of sales or road permit due to restrictions. We also hope that not only importers but ACI Motors too will import this bike in Bangladesh soon at the end of the year.

Yamaha Vixxion R

Expected Launching time: December 2017 Expected Price: 400,000 – 425,000 BDT Just like R15 V3 Vixxion R uses the same 155.1 cc motor and with new design & with power output of 19.1 BHP it will create a new hype in the street bike segments in Bangladesh.  This bike will also feature Variable Valves Actuation & Assist Slipper Clutch. If any news submerged of who & when will Vixxion R come in Bangladesh we will let you know as soon as we hear the news. To be honest am slightly disappointed about the new regulation of 165cc motorcycles in Bangladesh, I think they could have had allowed at least 250 cc bikes in Bangladesh. Many will say that we don’t have the road, yes with 250cc bikes we will get bikes of 35-38 BHP but you don’t need to use all the power all the time. To ride more powerful motorcycles the bikers in Bangladesh need to change the mentality of riding a bike & also they need to have proper license & must wear proper safety gears. I hope in the next 2018 – 2019 budget Bangladesh government will allow 250cc motorcycles in Bangladesh & at the same time will reduce the tax further on motorcycle companies who are going for manufacturing or progressive manufacturing. Over the past two weeks many bikers asked us about the expected price & launching date of upcoming 165cc motorcycles in Bangladesh. We hope we could answer back some quires through this article & I also want to state that the time & price range are just pure assumption comparing the Indian motorcycle market & if this is wrong me or BikeBD won’t be responsible for it as it is just an assumption.
