VERDICT
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI is one of the sportiest scooters you can get in Bangladesh. This scooter has the most beautiful physical features when compared to most scooters. Over the years, the scooter culture has expanded quite a lot and people have become more and more accustomed to scooters. Rather than looking at scooters as merely secondary vehicles like those in Western countries, people in our subcontinent invest in scooters as primary vehicles.
Yamaha is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. It is considered as one of the Japanese giants, alongside Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Honda. Yamaha is also one of the top contenders in MotoGP. The most popular motorcycles of Yamaha are Yamaha R1, Yamaha MT07, and the Yamaha FZs series (for Bangladesh). You can find the latest yamaha ray zr 125 price in bangladesh here.

As a result of Armoured Energy's design concept, the all-new Ray ZR 125 FI has a combination of stealthy looks and aggressive feel/cuts. It also delivers thrilling performance. The all-new Ray ZR weighs in at 99kgs and has a 125cc Fi Blue engine. This visually pleasing ride comes with a built-in engine cut-off switch on the side.

Key Features:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with a halogen headlight, which is a bit disappointing, considering that most of its competitors are getting LEDs by now. However, there is an LED tri-spoked DRL for the bike. The taillight is LED, but the indicators are bulb indicators. The headlight design is also slightly backdated.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with a pretty big storage space, which allows the rider to put a full-face helmet in the storage space. The fuel cap is still under the seat, which is obviously an inconvenience when being practical. The front foot space is adequate, and the handlebars are also higher which allows the rider to make tight turns without any hesitation.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI has two variants. The disc variant comes in 5 different colors:
Metallic Black.
Cyan Blue.
Dark Matte Blue.
Reddish Yellow Cocktail.
Matt Red Metallic.
The Drum variant only comes in two colors: Metallic Black and Cyan Blue.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with fuel injection and BS6 compliance. This means the scooter’s fuel consumption will be significantly less than most. The new scooter is also an upgrade from the previous 113cc motor. This should consume more fuel, but in fact, it saves quite a lot more fuel.
Physical Attributes:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI is a small and elegant machine. It has a saddle height of 785mm. Which allows riders of 5’3” to comfortably ride the scooter. The leg rest at the front could have had a little more space but is enough for tall riders to not feel uncomfortable. The scooter has a fuel tank of 5.2liters, which makes it very tough to take it on long rides.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI are 1880mm, 685mm, 1190mm, and 99kg. The scooter is one of the lightest of its class, which allows it to be easily flicked from one side to another. The scooter also has a small wheelbase of 1280mm, which brings the question of balancing the scooter at high-speed cornering. Ground clearance with full tank and oil is about 145mm, which is okay for the scooter to pass most speed bumps of the country, except for some.
Engine and Transmission:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with an air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and fuel-injected engine. The engine is quite fuel-efficient and is expected to have a fuel economy of around 45kmpl. The engine has a max power of 8.2PS at 6500RPM, and 9.7Nm of torque at 5000RPM. The power is quite less, but the torque is quite a lot, so you can expect fast acceleration whenever you open the throttle. The engine also comes with a stop and start system (SSS). Which turns the engine off after a few seconds of idle in traffic and turns on the engine quite easily. The SSS also allows for very low noise while starting the engine.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with a fully automatic gearbox, which makes it very much easy to control. The Automatic CVT engine is expected to have a top speed of about 100KMPH.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with a full drum or disc-drum setup. The front and rear both have drum brakes or you can also choose the one with a disc at the front. Both these variants come with UBS (Unified Braking system- Yamaha’s Combi braking system). The UBS makes the braking power and performance of the bike quite good and allows the bike to be safer than before. It would be so much better if it had two discs.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI has basic telescopic suspension at the front. The rear suspension is a mono-shock absorbing suspension. The suspensions are more like that of a bike than a regular scooter. This makes the suspension of the scooter quite premium. The scooter's suspension is expected to perform adequately.
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI comes with alloy wheels. The front and rear have 90/90 and 110/90 section tires respectively. The wheels are 12” and 10” at the front and rear respectively. The scooter is said to have great stability and good cornering skills. The scooter can also lean easily.
Target Audience:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI was made for the light-hearted scooter lover. It was made for the commuter who doesn’t want an aggressive, noise-making machine. The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI is a forgiving machine that has a short learning curve. This beginner scooter is made for people who are looking for a scooter that is easy and fashionable.
Competitors:
The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI has quite a few competitors in the 125cc segment. They are:
Vespa VXL 125.
Honda Activa 125.
Suzuki Access 125.
Hero Maestro Edge.
In conclusion, the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI is a great commuting scooter with a lot of character. This scooter will not disappoint its owners. It is considered one of the best 125cc scooters in Bangladesh. But, should you buy a Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI, this is your question to answer.
