Livo 110 Disc Video
Honda is always world-famous for their bikes. Their premium bikes are always attractive and also famous. The Honda Livo is a 110 CC premium commuter bike from the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India PVT. LTD. (HMSI).
It will be replacing the Honda CB Twister which was also a 110 cc sports commuter for the Indian market as well as the market of Bangladesh. As Honda said it is a premium small-capacity city commuter let’s see how great it is actually.
Engine:
The new Livo has the same 110 cc engine as the Honda dream Neo has. The engine is actually 109.19 CC, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, overhead cam, air-cooled, 2 valves, a single spark, HET engine. The HET, by the way, is Honda’s new technical term for better fuel-efficient engines that have been developed by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Private Limited.
The cylinder has a 50.0 mm bore and 55.6 mm stroke resulting that 109.19 CC of piston displacement. The compression ratio used is 9.9: 1 which ensures the longevity of the piston hence engine considering the available gasoline quality in Bangladesh though Octane is recommended for the engine.
The engine is fed through a Carburetor Honda did not revile any specific model that means it might adopt from the Dream Neo and tuned it for the Livo though it has somehow less power figure than Neo, it will not be felt in the real world. The engine is equipped with a Viscous paper filter element as an air filter for its healthy breathing.
The engine’s lubrication system is also unknown. And all these results in 8.2 BHP of peak power at 7500 RPM and 8.63 NM of maximum torque at 5500 RPM.
The engine is fed from an 8.5-liter fuel tank which should be enough for city commuting. The Wet weight is 111 Kg hence the bike has a power to weight ratio of 3.3 HP for per 100 KG. The Honda Livo has an Electric starter as well as a basic kick starter.
Transmission:
The Honda Livo is mated with 4-speed constant mesh transmission with all up gear configuration, so no surprise there. The transmission has a wet multi-plate clutch. The gear ratios are also unknown.
Design:
The Livo has been designed to look very premium and eye-catchy. The first time anyone sees it will know it for sure as it looks nothing like any 110 cc bike in the market.
It has a headlight design that we have been seeing in the 125cc premium or 150cc bikes. The visor looks and feels premium with the tinted black finishing.
The body-colored headlamp cowl and front fender look sporty and premium. The fuel tank has a design that we saw in the premium higher capacity motorcycles. The design of the tank shrouds and the 3D Honda wing logo emblem on those shrouds makes it look like some higher capacity motorcycles.
The side panels are very nicely designed and look premium. The fuel switch is now has a plastic cap and integrated into the side panels as we saw in the Honda Hornet or in the Honda CB Trigger.
The carburetor is covered with a plastic piece like a higher capacity bike and it makes the bike look clean and premium. The alloy wheels, the engine and the exhaust all have been finished matte black.
The rear-shocks are colored red give it a more premium look. The tail lamp is designed new and has multi reflection which increases the visibility of the bike to other riders. In short, Livo does not have anything which will say that the bike looks anyhow not premium.
Instrument console:
The Honda Livo has a newly designed two hexagonal pods fitted side by side as it’s instrument cluster. Though the design is new and refreshing, it is a full analog console. For a premium bike in this digital generation an analog console is a letdown, I think.
The left pod has a speedometer and an odometer. The left pod has a single fuel gauge and a Livo logo. The console is equipped with some basic indicators.
Switch Gears:
Like all other Honda bikes in the economy segment the Livo lack an engine kill switch. Other than that rest of the switches are standard with a high beam flasher and feels of premium quality too. The grips are soft and made of premium quality rubber.
Electricals:
The Honda Livo 110 uses a 12 V, 3Ah maintenance-free battery and an AC generator. The bike uses a DC-Digital Ignition System. The Bike has a bright 35/35 W Multi reflector clear lens AC head lamp, 5/21 W LED tail /Brakes light and each 10 W clear lens turn signal light.
Chassis & Dimensions:
Honda used a Diamond type frame for the foundation of the Livo, which should be enough for a 110cc bike. The Honda Livo has an overall length of 2020 mm, a width of 746 mm, a height of 1099 mm, ground clearance of 180 mm and a wheelbase of 1285 mm.
The wet weight (with tool kit & 90% of fuel) of the bike is 111 Kg. These mean that the bike has an average footprint in terms of dimensions in its competition.
Suspension:
The Honda Livo is equipped with Telescopic forks at the front and 5 steps adjustable spring-loaded shocks with hydraulic damper at the rear which are attached with rectangular swing arm. This suspension setup is more than standard in its segment and works better for soaking up all the bumps of all kind roads with even a pillion in the back.
Wheels, Brakes & Tires:
The Honda Livo uses their conventional 6-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and 130 mm drum brake comes with it as standard but an optional 240 mm Nissin dual caliper Disc brake is offered and a 130mm drum brake is a fitter at the rear. The tires sizes are 80/ 100-18” at the front and 80/ 100-18” at the rear. Both of these tires are tubeless tires and offer great grip.
Performance:
The new Honda Livo should reach the 60 Km/H marks in around 8 or 9 sec and the mileage claim is 65-80 Km/L on city and highway which is fare. The Livo can go up to 84 Kmph.
Comfort and Handling:
The Livo is a very lightweight bike with a relatively strong frame. So the is easily maneuverable in the city traffics and also stable at the highway on the top speed.
The seat is well designed and well-cushioned too, which gives the rider and the pillion a very pleasant ride. The bike can give you whatever performance you want regarding its little engine.
Conclusion:
The Honda Livo is an attempt to show that in that 110 CC segment, a highly sophisticated and premium bike is possible with a little bit of cost. Well, it’s a Honda so no doubt.

Honda Livo 110 Disc CBS Bikes FAQs

Ans. The company-claimed mileage figure of HONDA Livo is 74 kmpl. Regarding the record of HONDA, the claims are very much believable.
3. Is HONDA Livo good for long rides?
Ans. It is not impossible, but you have to consider the fact that HONDA Livo is mainly built for commuting with a small 110cc engine. So, we do not recommend buying it intentionally for long rides. The company-claimed 86 kmph top speed is also a large factor for not recommending it for highway usage.
