Some Chinese companies are making some extraordinary bikes. Some of these Chinese bikes look much better than most Japanese bikes. One of those Chinese companies is CFMoto. CFMoto 150NK is a very famous bike from the company.
The CFMoto is a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer. CFMoto started its journey back in 1989. Since then it has made motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, side-by-side utility vehicles, and many more. CFMoto is marketed in Bangladesh officially by H Power. The CFMoto 150NK is a well-known motorcycle of CFMoto. This CFMoto 150NK was first introduced to the public in 2016. Since then it has made quite a name for itself.
The CFMoto 150NK is an aggressive-looking sports commuter. It was designed by Kiska, the designer of KTM, which is why it looks somewhat similar to the KTM Duke series. The bike has a perimeter chassis, which enhances the aggressive look and makes it a very strong bike. The bike also has a split seat setup, which allows the rider to be much more comfortable on the saddle.
The CFMoto 150NK bike has a mixture of LED and Halogen lights. The headlight is a halogen light. Regardless of being halogen, the headlight is sufficient for night rides. The taillight is an LED light and is very much detectable. The headlight has a very aggressive design and looks very much similar to the KTM Duke 125.
The CFMoto 150NK comes in a single color, which is coral blue. Although the main color is Coral blue, the bike has a combination of other colors, such as black and white. The color combination of the entire bike enhances the sporty look of the bike. The decals of the bike make it look like a hooligan stunt bike, which many people find attractive.
The CFMoto 150NK has a very intuitive and innovative instrument cluster. The instrument cluster consists of a small LED screen and an RPM counter. The basic functions of the LED display are to show speed, fuel gauge, and odometer. However, the functionality of the LED display does not end there; it also shows time, battery health, bike temperature, mode, and engine temperature. The bike has two modes, eco, and sport. The modes will be discussed in the engine section.
The CFMoto 150NK has an average saddle height of 775mm. This makes the bike suitable for people between the height of 5’2” and 5’9”; people beyond that weight can also ride the bike, but may have some difficulty doing so. But the ground clearance of the bike is quite less, as it is only 150mm. This means that the bike has a risk of hitting any tall speedbump. The bike has a fuel capacity of 10liters, which is not very much and is neither very helpful during long rides out of town.
The height, length, width, and weight of the CFMoto 150NK are 1070mm, 2025mm, 770mm, and 142kg. The bike is slightly on the heavier side. Most of the weight distribution is towards the front, which makes the bike very much easy to do a stoppie on. The bike has a wheelbase of 1360, which is of the perfect length. The bike will be very stable during cornering.
Engine and Transmission:
The CFMoto 150NKcomes with an EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) engine. This means it has an internal ECU (Electronic Control Unit) that controls the exact amount of fuel the engine needs. This system leads to better fuel efficiency. The bike comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 149.5cc, and is liquid-cooled. The engine produces around 12.3BHP of power at 8250rpm, and 11.5Nm of torque at 6500rpm.
The power and torque figures are quite mediocre for the cubic capacity of the bike. The bike has two modes, one is the sport mode and the other is the eco mode. In sport mode, the power delivery becomes more aggressive, the gears become smoother and the fuel economy drops, but in eco mode, the power delivery becomes more linear and the fuel economy rises slightly.
The CFMoto 150NKcomes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. But what is exciting is the 6-speed gearbox. The 6-speed gearbox ensures that this is a performance-oriented bike. As previously mentioned, the bike has smoother gear shifting in the sport mode.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The CFMoto 150NK comes with dual disc brakes. The front being 295mm, which is bigger than the regular disc brake. This huge disc up front pretty much ensures safe and early stops during emergency braking situations. The rear brake has a 220mm disc, which response quite well. The bike has two versions, one with ABS and the other without.
The CFMoto 150NK has upside-down telescopic forks in the front and a mono-shock in the back. The front forks being USD the bike becomes more stable at corners. However, USD suspensions are a nightmare on bumpy roads. The rear suspension performs averagely.
The CFMoto 150NK comes with a 100/80 and 130/70 tire setup. The 150cc bike has a very good tire combination, however, the stock tires are not very suitable for wet or sandy roads, as the grips are very weak when the bike passes these kinds of roads. The tires are perfect if the power figure is considered.
The CFMoto 150NK is for all ages. The bike is very forgiving, hence new riders will not be overwhelmed by the bike. The bike is very reasonable, hence regular commuters will also find it very suitable. The bike looks very aggressive, which will attract the young generation.
The competitors of this bike are quite a few, as this segment is commonly explored.
- Suzuki Gixxer series.
- Yamaha FZs Series.
- Bajaj Pulsar 150 series.
- Benelli TNT 150.
Overall, the CFMoto 150NK is a fantastic bike with fantastic specifications. The bike has quite a few flaws, but the advantages overrule the flaws. The CFMoto 150NK can stand on par with the heavyweight Japanese bikes.
