VERDICT
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is one of the top-of-the-line motorcycles by Bajaj. For most people in Bangladesh, the Bajaj Pulsar is deemed as a legend. With its confident handling, braking, and sporty look with a hint of politeness, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 has been one of the best 150cc motorcycles in Bangladesh. However, with the changing market and taste, Bajaj needed to rethink its motorcycles from scratch. Hence, the birth of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 series. This series has quite a few options to choose from. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 regular edition, twin disc edition, Refresh edition, and the FI ABS edition. Here we will be talking about the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh edition.
Bajaj is one of the top motorcycle manufacturers in India. Over the years, Bajaj has churned out many iconic motorcycles. Some of these include the Bajaj Pulsar series, the Bajaj Avenger series, the Bajaj Dominar series, and many more. However, due to the cubic capacity (CC) limit, Bangladesh only got bikes that are 165cc or less. Bajaj also had and has continued to have joint ventures with many iconic motorcycle manufacturers worldwide, among which the most notable are Kawasaki and KTM.

Key Features:

The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is a sports commuter with a lot of features. One of the main features of the bike is that it has a Twin Disc setup combined with ABS. This setup increases the braking power of the bike and improves the overall handling of the bike. The bike also has a three-part handlebar setup, just like most of its predecessors. The handlebars bring a very sporty vibe to the bike.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh comes with a partially digital instrument cluster. The instrument cluster consists of an analog RPM counter. On the other hand, the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, and other necessary indicators are fully digital. The best thing about the bike is that it comes with illuminated switch gears.
The previous version of the Pulsar NS160 Refresh is the Pulsar NS160 FI ABS. You can see almost everything being similar between the two bikes. However, they couldn't be more different. The engine has been refined, the colors have been revised, and the braking has also been refined.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh comes in two different colors:
Ebony black blue.
Ebony black red.
Both the variants come with similar decals. The decals of the bike make it look very much sporty. But, on the other hand, the curves and edges of the bike make it look very aggressive.
Physical Attributes:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is a fairly tall bike with a high seat height. The bike is mostly suited for riders more than 5'7". The bike's ground clearance is 177mm, which is very suitable for the city commute as the bike is quite immune to most speed bumps. The bike also has a 12liter tank which is very much ideal for long rides out of town. Commuting the motorcycle will also be a breeze as the bike has a very pleasing shape and comfortable ergonomics.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh are 2017mm, 803.5mm, 1060mm, and 148kg. The bike is also somewhat on the heavier side, which makes it very stable at high speeds. In addition, the bike has a wheelbase of 1370mm, which is quite good to keep it steady at corners.
Engine and Transmission:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 160.3cc engine with DTS-i technology. The machine is oil-cooled and carbureted. The engine pumps out 15.5BHP of power at 8500rpm and 14.6Nm torque at 6500rpm. Thus, the power is quite good, as well as the torque figure. The bike is expected to have a mileage of around 30-35kmpl on average.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh has a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. In addition, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh has a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike has an approximate top speed of about 125kmph.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheel:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh has a twin-disc single-channel ABS set up just like the name suggests. The front disc is 260mm in diameter equipped with ABS, making it quite the average size, but very good at braking. But the addition of the rear disc makes the braking performance and handling of the bike at a low speed much better.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh has basic telescopic forks as front suspension. The rear has a Nitrox filled mono-shock suspension. The front suspension takes in the speed bumps quite adequately; the rear suspension also performs quite well at corners. Moreover, the split seat setup might give the pillion more private space and a more tension-free ride.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh gets alloy wheels. The front and rear wheels have 90/90 and 120/80 tires, respectively. However, both the tires could have been a tad thicker. Thin tires affect confidence while cornering, and hence riders of this bike might have the same issue.
Target Audience:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh was made for youngsters who are somewhat intermediate in riding. Riding this bike as a complete beginner might overwhelm the rider as the power is quite a lot. In addition, the overall specs are a tad too much for most beginners. This bike is also for quite tall people, which means if you are less than 5'7", you might have difficulty controlling this bike.
Competitors:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is a 180cc bike, which is yet not allowed in Bangladesh; hence, putting up motorcycle competitions is redundant. However, if a list were to be made. They are:
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V (ABS).
Hero Thriller 160R.
Haojue DR 160
Benelli 165S
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is for thrill-seekers. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is for people who are looking for speed and acceleration. This bike is not suggested for a complete beginner. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is a great bike with great specifications but some flaws as well. But all in all, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Refresh is a good enough bike in its class.
