In busy cities motorcycles are a very popular vehicle for easy and fast travel. Once people used motorcycles only as a hobby but now it is being considered as a necessity. Considering this the demand for motorcycles and the number of users is increasing day by day. 

Recently according to a study by the United States based survey organization Pew Research Center found the highest number of motorcycle users in the world in the of Asia. So let’s find out which countries in the world have the highest number of motorcycle users and what is the position of Bangladesh.

Top Motorcycle Using Countries in the World and Bangladesh’s Position

The country with the highest number of motorcycle users in the world and Asia is Thailand. As most are scooter users Thailand is also called the land of millions of scooter. Thailand has about 1 crore 80 lakh households and surprisingly the number of registered motorcycles here is about 1 crore 50 lakh. That means according to the survey about 87% of people in Thailand use motorcycles.

Vietnam is in the second position among motorcycle users in the world. In Vietnam also about 86 percent of families have at least one motorcycle and this number is gradually increasing. Although in Vietnam currently one major reason for traffic jams is the excess number of motorcycles and unfortunately recently the Vietnamese government has decided to take some steps to discourage motorcycle use.

Indonesian bikes and different parts have always been our favourites. Indonesia is the third country among the top motorcycle users. In Indonesia in the capital city Jakarta alone 1.5 lakh motorcycles run every day where all other vehicles together are less than 50 lakh. According to research 85 percent of people in Indonesia use motorcycles.

Malaysia and China are in fourth and fifth place in the list. In Malaysia 83 percent of families have at least one motorcycle according to the proportion of total population. On the other hand in China about 60 percent of people currently use motorcycles or e bikes for easy travel.

According to this research Bangladesh is in the top 10 countries in the world. Bangladesh is in ninth place in the list. In Bangladesh at least one person in about 18 percent of families uses a motorcycle. Due to much lower price compared to other vehicles easy maintenance ease and small parking space requirement and fuel efficiency the number of motorcycle users is also increasing in Bangladesh day by day.
