Lifan Glint 100 Overview
Motorcycles of the commuter segment have always been the top-selling segment of the country. This is because most of the consumers of Bangladesh are more concerned about fuel efficiency than speed or power. This is the exact reason why motorcycles like the Lifan Glint 100 have become so popular in Bangladesh.
Lifan was brought in Bangladesh by Rasel Industries Ltd in 2007. Lifan has since then become one of the top contenders of motorcycles in Bangladesh. Lifan’s biggest strength is the fact their bikes are affordable and reliable. Lifan helped in busting the myth of “Chinese motorcycles having bad quality”. Lifan Glint 100 is a 100cc commuter bike by Lifan, which has been doing great since the beginning.
Lifan Glint comes with a stylish design. The bike looks very simple yet elegant, regardless of being a 100cc commuter bike. It has a sporty and classy design which induces confidence in the rider when preparing to start the day. The design of the bike will make you feel like a teenager, regardless of how old you are.
The Lifan Glint 100 also comes with a gear indicator on the dashboard. Many people opting to buy this bike will be beginners, who will feel more confident with a gear indicator while learning. The bike also comes with an rpm counter and a speedometer, and the other necessary indicators.
The Lifan Glint 100 comes in two colors. They are:
The Red version of the Lifan Glint 100 comes in full red color with a few different colors of decals, whereas the black one comes in a black tank, with most of the decals and the tail section is blue.
Lifan Glint 100 is a small bike. The bike has a low seat height. The ground clearance of the Lifan Glint 100 is 160mm, which is adequate. The bike is also quite compact and small and is easy to control and handle.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Lifan Glint 100 are 1850mm, 770mm, 1265mm, and 108kg. The bike is quite light, which makes it easy to swing over and hold between two legs in traffic. The bike also has a small wheelbase of 1250mm, which brings the question of stability to light. The bike also has a 12liter fuel tank, which might even go for days.
Engine and Transmission:
The Lifan Glint 100 comes with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, and 98.74cc engine. The bike has both self-start and kick-start mechanisms. The bike also comes with an engine kill switch, which is quite rare when it comes to 100cc bikes. The engine pumps out 8.04BHP of power at 7500rpm and 6Nm of torque at 6000rpm. The bike is expected to have a mileage of around 55kmpl.
The Lifan Glint 100 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch. It comes with a 4-speed gearbox, which means, you don’t have to downshift when you need to make a sharp turn. The 4-speed gearbox and low power also mean that you cannot be a street Rossi on the highway.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Lifan Glint 100 has a disc-drum set up for brakes. The front is a disc brake, which is expected to perform adequately. It has a drum brake at the rear wheel, which may not have the best performance. The brakes of the bike may not seem very impressive, but it is suitable for a bike of this caliber.
The Lifan Glint 100 comes with a telescopic fork set up at the front and a telescopic spring-loaded setup at the rear. The front telescopic forks are expected to respond well on the road. The rear dual spring-loaded setup may not be the friendliest setup to have on the bike, as they tend to be a bit too soft and dance around too much on bumpy roads.
The Lifan Glint 100 has alloy wheels. It has 2.75/17 and a 3.00/17 tire setup. The front tire is okay for a 100cc bike which is compact and less powerful. The rear wheel would have been better if it was a bit thicker at 3.25 or 3.5. The rear wheel has a risk of sliding or skidding on the road.
The Lifan Glint 100 was not made for the street Rossi’s. It was made for the sensible commuters. The bike was made for the regular commuter and for the ones who see bikes as merely commuting transportation systems, which will only take its rider around town and not out of the city. The regular office goer who is looking for a bike, but has a low budget, will find this bike to be suitable. This bike is also suitable for a new rider. It is easy and nimble to ride, which makes it very comfortable for new riders.
Lifan Glint 100 has quite a few competitors in its segment.
