Motorcycles have come a long way over the years. Some technologies are being applied, which are beyond imagination. A new dynamic has arisen in Bangladesh, where people prefer to buy naked versions of certain motorcycles over their fully faired counterparts. This led Suzuki to build different versions of the Suzuki GSX-R150, the Suzuki GSX-S150, and the Suzuki Bandit 150
Suzuki is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Over the years, Suzuki has had many motorcycles that became legends. Every motorcyclist around the world undoubtedly knows the Suzuki GSX-R series and the Suzuki Hayabusa. The official dealer of Suzuki in Bangladesh is Rancon Motors. In 2020 Rancon Motors introduced the highly anticipated Suzuki Bandit 150.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 is a sports commuter. But there is too much going on with the design of the bike. From a distance, the Suzuki Bandit looks a bit bulky compared to its sibling, the Suzuki GSX-S150. Although both the bikes have nearly identical specifications, the Suzuki Bandit 150 is a much more comfortable bike with a single seat. The pillion seat is significantly more significant than that of the GSX-S150.
All the colors come with similar decals. The decals of the Suzuki Bandit 150 are very minimalistic but still sporty.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 gets a complete LED treatment. The headlight is a two-step LED setup. The headlight is bright enough for night rides. The taillight is also LED, but the design is too bulky, which is good because it will be visible from a distance. The indicators are also LED, and just like the taillight, they are also quite bulky.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 gets the same instrument cluster as the Suzuki GSX-R150. The instrument cluster has a speedometer, an odometer, a trip meter, a gear position indicator, a clock, a fuel gauge, and other necessary information.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 is an averagely tall bike to sit on, with a saddle height of 790mm. The bike is perfect for a person of 5’5″. The bike is otherwise shorter in overall height, with a height of 1035mm without the mirrors. Generally, the bike is relatively thin, with an overall width of 745mm (less width of the handlebars), so you know escaping through the traffic will be easy.
The length and weight of the Suzuki Bandit 150 are 2000mm, and 135kg, respectively, as you can see that the bike is on the lighter side. The lightweight makes the bike very suitable for flicking from one side to another. The bike’s wheelbase is 1300, which is a bit short and makes it handy, but it brings a question about stability at the corners.
Engine and Transmission:
The Suzuki Bandit 150 comes with a new age FI engine. The engine is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine. It has liquid cooling. The machine gives out 18.9BHP of power at 10500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 9000rpm. The engine is very refined, coupled with fuel injection, which is expected to put the average mileage of this bike above basic commuter bikes. The mileage of this bike is expected to be around 45kmpl.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 comes with a regular wet multi-plate clutch. But the bike also comes with a 6-speed gearbox with the power being delivered even on the 6th gear. The top speed of this bike is expected to be around 135kmph (not suggested to test on open roads).
Brakes, Suspension, and Wheels:
The Suzuki Bandit 150 comes with a dual-disc setup. The front wheel has a 260mm disc, which induces confidence in riders. The front brake is an axially mounted dual caliper disc brake. The rear brake is a standard disc brake. The shame of this bike is that it doesn’t have any CBS or ABS. The front brakes are expected to work quite well.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 has telescopic forks at the front as suspension. The divisions are pretty helpful during cornering and also fairly responsive on bumpy roads. The bike has a mono-shock at the rear. The mono-shock will be expected to give good support during cornering.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 comes with alloy wheels. The front tire is 100/80, and the rear tire is 130/70. The rear tire would have been better if it was 140, considering the power figure of the bike. The riders will not feel very comfortable during high-speed cornering.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 comes with a design that looks like the fat kid in class. The bike has very high power compared to other bikes of the 150cc naked segment. This is a perfect bike for a young biker who is looking for a bike that looks futuristic and has good performance. The bike may not be the best for beginners.
The Suzuki Bandit 150 may be a great bike, but it has some serious competitors as well.
- Yamaha MT15.
- Suzuki GSX-S150 (Unofficial).
- Kawasaki Z125.
All in all, the Suzuki Bandit 150 is a fantastic bike. Of course, it has its flaws. But which bike doesn’t? Suzuki has kept up with its quality image and has created a masterpiece. The Suzuki Bandit 150 may not be a head-turner, but it definitely will astonish people with its features and specifications.
