Description
Roadmaster Rex is an 80cc commuter bike and it costs less than the iPhone 11. Roadmaster has always commended themselves because of how affordable their bikes are. The Roadmaster Rex is nothing different.
The Roadmaster Rex was released to the public as one of the most affordable 80cc commuter bikes known to man. Since then Roadmaster has done very good business with the Roadmaster Rex. The bike has developed a following, as it has both good qualities and does not burn a hole in the pockets of the consumers.
Key Features:
The Roadmaster Rex comes with a special feature that even high-end bikes don’t get, a USB port. Running out of the battery of the phone in the middle of nowhere is a scenario, which bikers often find themselves in. Having a USB port eliminates that problem. And the best thing about the USB port is that, unlike most aftermarket ones, this one comes with a waterproof cap.
The dashboard of the Roadmaster Rex takes the bike to a whole different multitude for new riders. The dash contains a gear position indicator, which is essentially one of the most important features of a motorcycle, and seeing one in a bike of this cost is a luxury. The rest of the functionalities are all analog.
The bike comes with simple and backdated looks. The color options are only limited to Red in one single design. A buyer will not have to think much of which color to get, as there is only one color available on the bike.
Physical Attributes:
The Roadmaster Rex has a fairly low seat height, which allows riders even of 5’1″ ride the bike fairly easily. The bike is also slim and lightweight, which ensures that the bike is easily maneuverable. The bike also has an upright pipe handlebar, which means the rider will not have any shoulder pain either.
The Roadmaster Rex has a height, width, and length of 1300 mm, 800 mm, 1940 mm. The bike is fairly slim and weighs at only 88.8kg, which will make it easy to commute on, as the bike can squeeze through most of the city traffic and change directions within the blink of an eye. It also has a 9.5liter fuel storage tank, which may seem inconvenient, but the mileage makes up for it.
Engine and Transmission:
The Roadmaster Rex comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 80cc engine. The engine is only air-cooled, as expected. The bike also has quite a fascinating power figure of 6BHP of power at 8000rpm. The engine is also expected to be fuel-efficient. The mileage of the engine, claimed by the company, is around 60kmpl.
The bike comes with a 4-speed gearbox. This does ensure that you don’t have to shift down for taking turns, just the engine brake is enough to help you take turns.
Brakes, Suspension, and Wheels:
The Roadmaster Rex has a disc-drum brakes setup. The front brake is a disc brake, which significantly increased the braking performance of the bike. The rear brake of the bike is a drum brake, which is sufficient for an 80cc bike.
The Roadmaster Rex comes with telescopic forks on the front, so you know that the potholes of the city won’t rattle your bones. The bike also comes with spring-loaded rear suspensions, which is mostly there to keep the cost of the bike low, so consumers are not suggested to get their hopes up about the rear suspension.
The bike especially comes with alloy wheels. Which is an exciting feature for bikes of this price range! The bike also comes with 2.50/17 tires at the front and 2.75/17 tires at the back. If the rear tires had been 3.25/17, it would have been more suitable and stable.
Rivals:
Roadmaster Rex has quite a competition in its segment.
- Victor-R Classic.
- Hero HF Delux (Kick).
- TVS Metro KS.
- Runner AD80S.
Target Audience:
The Roadmaster Rex was not made for performance, rather it was made for efficiency. It was not made for style; it was made to take its rider from one place to another. It was not made to look good; it was made to do good. The Roadmaster Rex is for the rider on a bike who is on a budget and just wants a bike to commute. This bike also is for the ones who are still learning to ride and want to learn on an affordable bike before getting a bigger bike.
Overall, the Roadmaster Rex is a good cost-effective bike which will be a bang for the buck and will give you good comfort, but it will do that till a certain limit. Of course, the Roadmaster Rex is a well-built bike, but the materials are what you can expect at this price range.
