Keeway! A motorcycle manufacturing company owned by the Chinese giant Qianjiang Motorcycle. Although initially, Keeway had a hard time making a spot for themselves in the Bangladeshi market. Eventually, Keeway was able to make a name for itself in the Bangladeshi market as one of the top contenders. Keeway Magnet 100 is a 100cc commuter motorcycle.
The Keeway Magnet 100 was released around 2017-2018. The bike is a 100cc commuter bike. It has been going strong in the market since then. The bike is well recognized by the biking community as a learning bike and a commuting bike, with a low price tag.
Have you ever looked at a 100cc bike and wondered only if the design of that bike could be on a 150cc bike? You will wonder that when you see the Keeway Magnet 100. The design of the special edition Keeway Magnet 100 is excessively beautiful. The bike comes with a sleek graffiti decal. The bike is also very compact and simple.
The important factor of the bike is the throttle system of the bike. The throttle comes with a technology called Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). What TPS does, is sense the position of the throttle and accordingly send the amount of fuel required to the engine. This may not be as sophisticated as Fuel Injected engines or even EFI engines, but it is enough to save you a significant amount of fuel.
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes in three colors:
3) Black Graffiti (Special edition)
All three colors are of gloss finish. The bike has a very premium color coating, which is very impressive.
The Keeway Magnet 100 also comes with a partially analog instrument cluster. The instrument cluster has an analog rev counter, speedometer, and odometer. The digital side of the instrument cluster is the fuel gauge and the gear position indicator.
The Keeway Magnet 100 is a fairly short bike. The bike has a seat height of 700mm, which is highly suitable for riders under the height of 5’7”. But with a short height, it also comes with small ground clearance. The bike has a ground clearance of 130mm, which may cause problems on most speed bumps of Bangladesh. The bike also has a 12.4liter fuel tank, which is very convenient for city rides and short rides out of town as well.
The length, width, and height of the Keeway Magnet 100 are 2010mm, 700mm, and 1080mm. The bike has a fairly short wheelbase of 1290mm. This wheelbase may seem very short, but it is perfect for a bike of this capacity and also enables this bike to be very compact.
Engine and Transmission:
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 99.7cc engine. The engine pumps out 7.38BHP of power at 7500rpm and 7.6Nm of torque at 5500rpm. The engine may not be the most powerful, but it is fuel-friendly. The bike has the TPS technology to support fuel efficiency as well. The bike has a mileage of around 55-58kmpl on average.
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. It also comes with a 4-speed gearbox. The long gearbox ensures that the bike can take tight turns with the help of engine braking alone and that no down-shift is required.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes with a full drum braking system. The front and rear wheels are both supported with drum brakes. Now, that is a very big disadvantage of the bike, as drum brakes are very unreliable and require regular maintenance to function correctly. At least a disc brake at the front would have increased the braking performance of the bike significantly.
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes with telescopic forks for front suspensions and telescopic spring-loaded oil-damped suspension for the rear. The front suspension is expected to respond well on bumpy roads, but the rear suspension may not respond very well on bumpy roads, especially with a pillion.
The Keeway Magnet 100 comes with alloy wheels. The front and rear wheels have 2.75/17 and 3.00/17 section tires. The rear wheels are very thin and could have been better if they were slightly thicker. A 3.50/17 section tire would have been a consequential improvement.
The Keeway Magnet 100 was made for commuters. People whose sole purpose of buying a bike for commuting around the city will find this bike to be very useful. This bike is also suitable for beginners. As this bike is very small and has very little power, this will not overwhelm beginner riders who are still learning the ropes of riding.
The Keeway Magnet 100 has quite a few competitors, but the top ones are mentioned below.
- Bajaj Discover Series.
- Keeway RKSt 100.
- Hero Splendor Series.
- Bajaj Platina 100.
In easy words, it can be said that the Keeway Magnet 100 has outdone itself and puts up good competition against many of its rivals. The Keeway Magnet 100 is a deserving bike and is reliable according to its specifications.
