Introduction: Kawasaki KLX 150 BF is a 150 cc smart and stylish dirt bike of Kawasaki. As per Kawasaki, the KLX150 BF was designed to offer riders serious off-road performance for riding in the jungle and on other off-road trails. It is actually the successor to the KLX150 L of the company. The bike is based on Kawasaki’s KX motocross racers. See pictures of Kawasaki KLX150 BF here.

History: Kawasaki KLX 150 BF is a version of Kawasaki’s lineup of motorcycles that are built for taking on harsh road conditions. The KLX 150 series was first launched in Indonesia. The bike is sold in Bangladesh by Asian Motorbikes Ltd. since early 2019.

Kawasaki KLX 150BF – Overview

Kawasaki KLX 150BF is an off-road motorcycle known internationally as a beginner class dirt bike. It also belongs to the dual-sport category where it is more focused on trail riding(Source). The motorcycle was designed under the shadow of the Kawasaki KX series but comes with street-legal features. Hence it can be used both on trail and street in full throttle.

The motorcycle is a standard-size off-road machine with 21”/18” front/rear wheels, standard saddle height, and a wider wheelbase. Hence altogether it widely covers the area of dirt biking, tracks racing or can be ridden both on-street & raw trails. Consequently, it’s a popular beginner dual sports model in Asia, Australia, and the South American region.

Kawasaki KLX 150BF – Designed for Off-Road
Kawasaki KLX 150BF is a standard-size street-legal off-road motorcycle. It carries both the features of track riding and also regular off-road use. Being street legal it also can be used on solid streets therefore is has dual-purpose riding features. Coming to the design it’s solely a naked dirt track-like machine with larger front and rear wheels. It comes with significantly higher ground clearance and higher saddle height. It is designed on a solid perimeter steel frame. The frame is light and rigid to tackle the extreme conditions of the track.

As like a track dirt machine, you will not find any excess panels on the body part. Only the headlamp assembly, ODO console, mirrors, and rear mudguard were added with that machine to get the street-legal status. In addition, there also have turning indicators, horn, signal, and passenger footpegs.

Being a dirt bike it’s completely naked but the slim fuel tank has iconic MX bikini fenders on both sides. Matching with those there are also has sleek and tiny plastic panels till the tail fender. Being street legal a headlamp is a full-size unit with a sharp headlamp, analog ODO, and flexible turning indicator sets.

It also comes with a street-legal exhaust muffler with a heat protection cover. As a complementary feature, it also has a stock handguard, front shock protector, and engine guard. Those panels seem okay for normal riding conditions but may need replacement with enduro standard after-market panels.

Lastly coming to the overall looks & appearance Kawasaki KLX series is designed for sports so it’s solely sporty. Its looks & design are so gorgeous and it is appreciated widely by the trail riders. At a glance, it’s a naked, sleek, dirty, and super macho stallion designed for the dirty trail.

Features: The KLX 150 BF is almost identical to the KLX 150 L. Key features of Kawasaki KLX 150 BF are described in a nutshell below.

The bike is a serious off-roader from the company. The high seats, ground clearance, long suspension, and high-raised handlebars are all there to aid the rider in off-road trails. In fact, the best feature of this bike is that it is an off-roader in the realm of 101 street bikes. But the main distinguishable feature is the Upside down front forks from Showa.

The shape of the bike allures the rider to climb on and ride to their heart’s content. Literally, this bike’s ride-ability is only limited by the rider’s abilities, almost. The instrument panel is an analog one with a Tachometer over the KLX150L’s specs.

The fuel tank is also very cool to look at with its slim shape and the attractive graphics on the panels that also add up to the cool factor of this bike. The seating is very much comfortable, though with an upright rider triangle and pipe handlebar which are ideal for this type of bike. The seat is elongated to almost the top of the fuel tank to help you in times of harsh off-roading and standing on the bike from time to time.

Colors available for the Kawasaki KLX 150 BF being sold in Bangladesh are:

  1. Green on Black
  2. Black on Green
  3. Blue on Black

The lights on the bike are halogen on both ends head and tail. So, that is a bummer for cool LED lovers but real dirt lovers actually, don’t mind a halogen setup.

Body Dimensions: The Kawasaki KLX 150 BF is an amazing motorcycle. The wheelbase is 1340mm on which the 118 kg bike stands. The bike is balanced very well for its steel Perimeter frame. The bike has now got a 6.9L fuel tank which feeds the engine through the Carburetor system.

The overall length of Kawasaki KLX 150 BF is 2080 mm while the width and height are kept at 770 mm and 1145 mm. The ground clearance is 295 mm in this machine with a seat height of 810 mm. Together with the lightweight, high ground clearance and seat the bike is very capable of taking on the harsh challenges of off-road rides. Also, it performs decently on regular paved streets.
