Benelli TNT 150
Benelli, an Italian brand that recently made its way into the Bangladeshi market, and has created great curiosity among the biking community. The Italian manufacturer has been making bikes since 1911, and have made a name for themselves for making extremely good looking, and good quality bikes.
The Benelli TNT 150 made its first appearance to the Bangladeshi public in 2018 at the Dhaka Bike Show 2018. The bike initially was one of the most anticipated bikes of the year. Although Benelli is not one of the most common names in the industry for Bangladeshis, the bike itself has made quite a good impression of the bikers of Bangladesh.
The Benelli TNT 150 is one of the most good-looking bikes of its segment. The bike has the looks of a lion just like the inscriptions on its body. The bike has a simple yet gorgeous design. The visible framework with the body is one of the first of its kind. The bike has very few decals, but yet looks nothing less than aggressive.
The Benelli TNT 150 comes with a very informative dashboard. The dashboard is fully digital and has all the information a person needs daily. It comes with an rpm counter, a speedometer, and the other necessary information. It also comes with a gear-position indicator, which is a very important feature for amateur bikers.
The Benelli TNT 150 comes with inverted telescopic forks at the front. The inverted forks are quite rare in the Bangladeshi market, but if tuned properly and added to most bikes, they will give very good suspension response on the roads of Bangladesh.
The Benelli TNT 150 comes in three different color variants.
All of the above-mentioned color variants are well designed, which will cause dilemma among the buyers when choosing which color to choose.
The Benelli TNT 150 is a rather short bike with a saddle height of only 770mm. The bike may not be very comfortable for riders taller than 5’8”, but for riders below that height, the bike is very comfortable to swing a leg over. The bike is also quite compact and is easy to control and handle on the road, which is a plus point for the newer riders on the block. The bike also has a 13.5liter tank capacity, which is considerably large, and will be a big plus point for long rides.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Benelli TNT 150 are 2080mm, 810mm, 1075mm, and 144kg. As you can see, the bike is quite heavy compared to its competitors. But that weight becomes redundant when riding at mid-range speeds. It is also quite thin and that is quite an advantage when squeezing through traffic. The bike has an average wheelbase of 1365mm, which is suitable for any new rider.
Engine and Transmission:
The Benelli TNT 150 comes with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, and 148cc carbureted engine. The bike is also air-cooled. The engine pumps out 11.4BHP of power at 7500rpm and 10.7Nm of torque at 6500rpm. The bike is not as powerful as its competitors but has ample power for the city commute. The bike is expected to give 45kmpl of mileage.
The Benelli TNT 150 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch. The bike has a 5-speed gearbox. The bike has a very low top speed and has very low acceleration due to its low power.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Benelli TNT 150 comes with a dual-disc setup. The front has a dual caliper brake system which is situated on the left side of the wheel. The brakes are expected to give a very good performance during emergency braking due to the dial calipers. The rear brake is a standard disc, which is a good addition considering the price of the bike. The bike also comes with CBS, which will help at sudden braking situations.
As previously mentioned, the Benelli TNT 150 comes with inverted telescopic forks at the front. The front suspension has 125mm travel, which is one of the most in its segment. The front suspension is expected to work extremely well on the Bangladeshi road conditions. Due to the inverted forks, most riders will also find it easier to lean the bike at corners. The rear has a mono-shock suspension with a 45mm travel. The rear suspension may not respond the best with a pillion due to the limited travel.
The Benelli TNT 150 has Aluminum alloy wheels. The wheels have a tire setup of 100//80 and 130/70 at the front and rear respectively. The wheels will give good performance on the road and during cornering. The rear wheel being of 130 sectioned, the cornering is expected to be smooth enough and enjoyable.
The Benelli TNT 150 will attract many new riders who are starting to ride, and wants a nimble bike. As the bike is very forgiving and less overwhelming, a new rider will not get scared when riding this bike. The bike is also for daily commuters. The bike is not exactly for tall riders. This bike is not for the speed seekers either.
The Benelli TNT 150 has quite a few competitors in its price range and segment.
- FZs FI V2.
- Runner Knight Rider V2.
- Pulsar 150 series.
- Roadmaster Rapido 150.
Overall, the Benelli TNT 150 is a commendable bike, with modern technologies. The Benelli TNT 150 is also a bang for the buck considering the features that it receives.
