BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc overview:

Introduction: Pulsar 150 has been upgraded again to the UG5 variant! If you are a Bangladeshi biker, or else, a biker from the subcontinent, you must know the meaning very well. It is an offering from the Indian automobile giant BAJAJ. BAJAJ has recently updated their 150cc Pulsar with new body parts. The 150cc Pulsar has its own league. So to say, it has contributed to a big stake to BAJAJ’s claim of this Pulsar series as “India’s No.1 Sports Bike.” See pictures of pulsar 150 twin disc here.

History: BAJAJ Pulsar was launched back in 2001 to meet the demands of the new age “millennial” bikers. Since its inception, it has been a range that gives the riders a full package of performance and reliability. Different upgrades, either mechanical and/or cosmetic have been made to this lineup of BAJAJ bikes to stay up to the ever-expanding demands of the market. The 2017 edition pulsar was launched in Bangladesh back in the first quarter of 2017. It has seen some engine upgrades and also some cosmetic ones too for differentiating it from the other models which are thriving in the streets till date. Here comes the UG5 variant following the path with more upgrades! You will easily be able to distinguish it as a Pulsar and still know it is the new one from its styling bits.

Features: The key feature of BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc in its name! This new version now comes with a disc brake at the rear wheel and a bigger one in the front. Other features are described in a nutshell below.

It has AHO (Automatic Headlight On) system, new graphics including stripes in the iconic alloy wheels, new color for the backlit switchgear to help you in night. It also has a new instrument cluster backlight color. The color is blue now with new design. It also has been added with a split seat like the one in the 180cc bike. It features an engine with DTS-i twin spark ignition system and a new wider and throaty exhaust muffler. The design is very similar to the existing models, hence can be polarizing to some potential buyers. BAJAJ has definitely gone the “why try to fix something if it is not broke?” route while upgrading this version…

The color options of this bike are all very attractive. The two colors of this bike in Bangladesh are:

  2. Black Red

The gun metal color of the BSIV engine is a very beautiful upgrade. The bike has a muscular stance aided by aggressive vinyl decals and a new wider exhaust with a more throaty and muscular sound, all of which increases the presence of the bike. The distinct slashed taillight is also a charm to look at and helps instantly recognize a Pulsar even in the night from a distance.

Body Dimensions: The all new BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is a really good performing motorcycle. The wheelbase is 1345mm on which the 144kg bike stands. The bike is balanced very well. The bike has a 15-liter fuel tank which feeds the engine.

The dimensions have changes by a small margin here and there. The overall length of BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is 2035mm while the width and height are 765mm and 1115mm. The ground clearance remains at 165mm.

Engine & Transmission: BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc possesses a 149.5cc, 4-Stroke, single cylinder, 2-valve, Twin spark DTS-i engine that complies with BSIV emission norms. This engine’s Power & Torque figures are as follows: 14 PS @8000 RPM & 13.4Nm @ 6000 RPM. This machine is paired with a 5-speed Transmission.

Suspension, Brakes, Wheels: The suspension system of this bike has a dual telescopic system up front with anti-friction bush and a set of 5-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. The front brake is a 260 mm Disc paired to the 6-spoke alloy wheel with 90/90-17 tyre. The rear brake is a 230mm Drum attached to the 6-spoke alloy wheel that is wrapped in 120/80-17 tyre. Both the wheels have tubeless tyre for better performance and to avoid sudden deflation.

Best For:  The BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is targeted to the youth of the country yet it is also very much usable by the older generation too. City riding is very much doable in this motorcycle. College and university students and young job holders are the main customers of this motorcycle. Many middle aged users also use this bike daily for their need of commuting and inter-city riding.

The motorcycle is also very good at highway speeds and it easily allows the user to do inter-city commutes thanks to its comfortable seating arrangement for both the rider and the pillion. So, you can do long rides with friends and family with the added confidence the new brakes provide now.

    I think bajaj pulsar twin disc bike should have kept the kick start option. Overall, everything remains fantastic as usual. Hope the concerned authority should take it into account to avoid the unnecessary fear.

    Yes. The BAJAJ Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is pretty good for highway rides.     Yes. The BAJAJ Pulsar 150 has different variants too. There is a Pulsar 150 2017 edition. A pulsar 150 neon version is estimated to be available soon along with this regular version.
