Honda CB150R ExMotion Launched In Thailand: USD Suspension & ABS Braking
Honda CB150R ExMotion Launched in Thailand. This is a naked sports bike from Honda which will have some dynamic features. This will be one of the premium motorcycle from Honda Thailand. This bike is expected to have a tussle with Yamaha M Slaz which was launched in Thailand 2 years back.
Honda over the past 2 years have concentrated a lot on the design phase of their motorcycles, these days most Honda bikes are not boring to look at. This new bike was first displayed at Thailand Motor Show as a concept version back on March 2017. The official bike was at display at the dealer’s meet last month & then it was finally revealed on September 3rd 2017.
Honda CB150R Exmotion engine of the bike is believed to be powered by the same 150cc engine which is found in Thai Honda CBR150R (Single Headlight). But looking at the pictures to me the engine looks more similar to that of Honda CB150R Streetfire (Honda Indonesia).
Honda CB150r Exmotion: Engine
The engine is programmed by PGM-FI and it has a double-head overhead nozzle. The engine is single cylinder, has 4 valves & is water cooling. Honda Indonesia didn’t release any power or torque figure but we are assuming that it will have a power output between 16-17 BHP! According to some websites the engine is EURO 6 emission standard. The engine also required very high grade Octane.
The power is delivered to the rear tyres by a 6 speed gearbox. Ignition system is control by computer & it is fitted with a self starting motor. The bike weighs only 123 kg or 125 kg (ABS version). It can carry only 8.5 litres of fuel in its tank.
Honda CB150r Exmotion: Design & Look
Honda CB150r Exmotion body design is changed a lot, the bike feature an all new LED headlight & tail light. The headlight is designed in round shape to give the bike an impression of a café racer. Added to that the bike has a muscular fuel tank to give it an aggressive looks. There are side air scoop beside the engine for letting air into the engine compartment.
They also added an all new full digital speedometer which includes rev counter, speed counter, gear display, trip meter, fuel gauge & other warning lights. It has a conventional pipe handle for comfort in city & long distance ride.
Honda CB150r Exmotion: Brake & Suspension
Swing arm of the bike is rectangular & diamond frame, they added petal disc brake and ABS as an option. The bike has Inverse Front Suspension which is Telescopic & shock absorber is 41 mm. They coloured it Golden & they used Showa branded front suspension. The rear suspension is Mono Suspension.
They gave 296 mm front disc brake with 4 piston calipers & 220 mm rear disc brake. ABS is an option with the bike which will cost more. Front tyres are 110 sections while the rear tyres are 150 sections. There are 10 spoke alloy wheels to the bike. For the first time Honda added under belly exhaust in this segment.
Honda CB150R (Thai) Exmotion launched in Thailand is a complete game changer from Honda. Over the years Yamaha were best known to give the best dynamic looking sports bike in the 150 cc segments but Honda are surely fighting back in the battle with Honda CBR150R (2016) & now this. With USD, ABS & a retro sytle this bike will be in the dreams of many bikers, question remains will Bangladesh Honda Pvt Ltd introduce this bike in Bangladesh in the near future? If you talk about price then I think it will be more expensive then Yamaha M Slaz as in Thailand Honda CB150R Exmotion is around 25 k (Bangladeshi Currency ) more expensive then M Slaz.
