Difference Between Yamaha FZ Series – Yamaha FZ Series In Bangladesh
Yamaha FZ series is one of the most iconic series not only in Bangladesh but also in this whole region. The Yamaha FZ series has been all around the world for a really good amount of time, and today we are only going to discuss the variant of FZ we have in our country, Yamaha FZ or Yamaha FZs with 150 or previously, 153cc of displacement. Let’s dive in the history of Yamaha FZ Series in Bangladesh.
Beginning of Yamaha FZ Series In Bangladesh
The first generation Yamaha FZs came into Bangladesh in mid-2008, and later on the faired version, Yamaha Fazer started taking on the roads and the highways.
Yamaha FZs was a bike solely focused on balance, control, and comfort of the rider. It had a 153cc air cooled four stroke engine which produced around 13.8 bhp of power and 13.6 Nm of torque. The engine had two valves, and along with the engine had a 5-speed transmission. The bike weighed 125 kilograms and had introduced some features in the market which no other 150cc motorcycle had before.
For instance, Yamaha FZs V1 had a diamond frame with a muscular styling. The most interesting part of the bike was definitely the suspensions and the tyres, along with the unibody seats with upright seating position and wide handlebar.
Yamaha FZs had a wide telescopic fork on the front and adjustable monoshock at the back. The front tyre was 100 section while the rear one was 140 section, which was the widest tyre size in the segment. The wide handlebar and the upright seating position provided a really comfortable ride, along with modern semi digital speedometer, pillion grab rails, and all.
This version of Yamaha FZs was on sale in Bangladesh for a really good amount of time. In this long run, it had several minor upgrades like different color options, redesigned pillion grab rail, dual accelerator cable, and some other minor things. And then, the updated model, Yamaha FZS FI entered the market.
Yamaha FZs FI V2
Yamaha FZs FI was the long-awaited replacement for the first version of FZS. It featured a totally different and more muscular styling and body panels, along with split seats, split grab rails, redesigned fuel tank, redesigned muffler, and a fully digital speedometer.
The biggest change was lying down in the engine, which was a completely new one with a displacement of 149 cubic centimeters which produced 13 bhp of power and 12.8 NM of torque – which was a bit lower than the first gen of the model. The engine was a Fuel Injection engine which provided better mileage and smoother acceleration.
The rest of the bike and the ergonomics were pretty much the same as it’s predecessor. It was still solely focused on the comfort, smoothness, and braking and was available in attractive colors.
Yamaha FZS FI V2 had several variants. It had the half-faired variant, Yamaha Fazer FI, which was still one of the most popular picks for anyone as a touring bike. Then later in 2017, a refreshed model of the Yamaha FZS FI was launched with BSIV emission standard and AHO – Automatic Headlight On System. And later on, several more versions were launched with special color variants and lastly, the Yamaha FZS FI V2 Dual Disc Version was launched.
After a really good run of the series, the latest generation of the FZS, Yamaha FZS FI V3 was launched in Bangladesh.
Yamaha FZS FI V3
The Yamaha FZ series has reached to its third generation now, and this third update was the most anticipated. In terms of design, it has a completely new design, though the chassis and the engine remain the same as version 2. The bike brings back some old vibes from the version1 like the unibody seat and the minimal looking muffler. The bike carries a lot of the design aesthetics from the FZ25 including the headlight design and the fuel tank design, along with the design of pillion grab rail.
New Yamaha FZS Version 3 has the same Fuel Injected 149cc engine which is newly tuned for slightly different power and torque figure. The bike now produces 13.2 bhp of power and 12 Nm of torque.
Despite carrying the same suspensions as the previous generation, the biggest upgrade of this bike lies within the braking system. The bike offers a Dual Disc braking system with single channel ABS as standard. The bike is available in two variants, Yamaha FZS V3 FI and Yamaha FZ V3 FI.
Yamaha FZS has crossed 3 generations, and in a rough margin, it still is the same bike it was 11 years ago. It has modern brakes now, along with the different engine, but it was always solely focused on the smooth and linear performance, great controlling and good comfort for both the rider and the pillion.
The FZs V3 Fi still gives out the same vibe and the same ergonomics as the original FZs, and in some cases, the ergonomics are upgraded with modern designs and features.
Since the launching, Yamaha FZ series always was one of the best 150cc motorcycles in Bangladesh, and one of the most perfect one. It was always considered as a premium option, cause despite being a 150cc air-cooled bike, it always provided a lot more to the riders, and the streak continues to this date.
