Fuel Injection is something new in our country. To be honest, most of the people are novice in terms of fuel injection. There has been many hypes and curiosity about this new technology, and also, many questions. But first, let’s learn why the sound of a fuel injection engine is different than the other types of engines.

Read All Yamaha Motorcycles Articles Here

Truth be told is that the only reason the fuel injected engines sounds different is because of the difference between Fuel Injection system and carburetor system. That’s why the engine note sounds different than the carburetor engines. Many people ask if that is a problem, and the answer is, no, It’s not.

Reasons Why the Engine Sound Could Change

1/ If there is extra gap in tappet clearance or valve clearance

2/ If the timing chain adjustment is not accurate.

3/ If the rubber in the clutch becomes weak ( it needs to be adjusted after 10 thousand kms )

4/ If the fuel injected engine over heats, it may sound different till it cools down.

5/ If there is any mud or dust or junk inside the silencer pipe.

6/ If the rpm is over revved or under revved.

7/ If the engine is not cleaned by the fuel injector in due time.

8/ If the speed and the rpm doesn’t match with the gear combination.

fuel injection

What to do to avoid extra engine noise?

1/ Use Yamalube 10W40 (mineral) in FI engines.

2/ Clean the fuel injection system with the fuel injector cleaner in every 4000 kms.

AVATAR Test Ride Review by Team BikeBD

Suvro SenFebruary 17, 2017

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Guys you may remember as on May 16, 2015 Goodwheel Bangladesh has showcased a new bike AVATAR with an event at Dhaka. From the time we the Team BikeBD were much excited to get the bike for our test ride to dig out the real taste & fun of the features added with the bike. So getting the visuals and official specifications we published the AVATAR-Featured Review that time.

The bike AVATAR actually was the test mule for their trial and to examine its capacity and compatibility considering our local road and environment condition. So Goodwheel Bangladesh also offered us to test the bike for our assessment. Therefore after testing the bike around for one month with clocking around 1000km here is our AVATAR Test Ride Review by Team BikeBD. We think this will answer the interests and queries of bikers on AVATER as well as help the company to evaluate the bike before its launch on road.

avatar-test-ride-wasif-anowar

Goodwheel Bangladesh is a new name in the two wheeler industry with a vision to establish a local brand – Goodwheel – which people should feel good about. Management of this company is very much passionate and ready to work hard to provide something special for motorcycle lovers

According to the company, every motorcycle or scooter that carries the name – Goodwheel – must come with good appearance, quality and performance. Not only that, Goodwheel Bangladesh commits to satisfy its customers with enough parts supply and good after sales services.

All the products branded under – Goodwheel – are manufactured in China. But Goodwheel Bangladesh chooses the best graded China origin products which are basically made for European market under the supervision of European engineers/companies.

On Road Impression of Avatar

The test mule AVATAR is an aggressively designed good looking as well as featured bike. We were pretty impressed with the appearance of the bike while we glanced it first time at Goodwheel Bangladesh event. The design of the AVATAR is in fact eye catching for any age of rider in true sense.

Here we will not to go for the visuals as we have described those with our featured review previously. Though we are herewith our test results but we should mention the on road public response while we have rolled the bike to the crowd for a month.

avatar-control-switch

Within our testing period each and every time while we moved through the traffic and stopped before the signals people used to ask about the bike and its features. It was really pretty good feeling grabbing the public attention.  The people were very much interested to know about the bike and wanted to know how it performing in real.

Here most of the people interested about the bike due to new sporty design, look and pretty good color scheme. And truly for the reason as they have never seen the model before.

Whatsoever some people aggressively loved the thrust note of the exhaust where anyone has not complained about it. Few people were not satisfied about the shape and size of the head lamp. But considering overall we are impressed with public response on appearance of AVATAR on the road.

avatar-mileage

Our Concentration on Avatar

We have tested the bike AVATAR for nearly one month. Most of the times we were on city and only few rides were on the rural area. We tried to know its capability and to evaluate its performance and compatibility considering both on-road and off-road.

We tried to know how it responds on different road condition, how brake & suspensions serve on various nature of the road. Is that comfortable or controllable for every age of rider or it designed for specific flock all of those were in our consideration. Moreover we tried to get some public opinion after getting them riding the bike. Hence at the end of the session here are the findings.

avatar-exhaust

We started our session from the very beginning at its odo. It was really nice experience hearing the threshing exhaust note as it like a dual sports or adventure bike. And truly speaking we also got the feeling of an adventure bike while we ridden the bike.

The riding posture of AVATAR is also like a dual sports adventure mule and we are happy for that. It some bit felt like riding a mustang on the avenue and people are jealousing  which really feels indeed.

avatar-side-panel

Track Performance of Avatar

The engine of AVATAR we found much responsive and have notable raw acceleration with which the exhaust note nicely matches. But very unfortunately the engine is not refined and we felt lack of smoothness of power delivery of the engine. It feels more apparently just on and after the gear shifting. It vibrates a lot with the full body of both bike and rider while on accelerating and also at the high speed.

The gear shifting is quite smooth as you will not feel any hassle to shift gears at any speed. We are much happy with the gear mechanism as sometime we have forgotten to concentrate on gears for checking for its performance.  But again the power delivery doesn’t matches with the gears.

AVATAR is a good looking naked street bike where for sure you will get some taste of an adventure bike as we mentioned earlier. The acceleration is good and top speed was also comparatively nice. We have experienced 118 kmph of speed on one kilometer track, afterward we reached at 124 kmph of top speed. But frankly speaking we expected more as it is a light weighted naked bike with a mentionable compression ratio of 9.8:1 where the air intake volume is 300cc as specified by Goodwheel Bangladesh.

The AVATAR is using quite same carburetor like old Yamaha FZS series, so the fuel efficiency we guessed near to that. Moreover we expected higher figure due to its light weight feature. But the fuel efficiency we have experienced is around 32-35 kmpl in Dhaka city. It was averagely counted with total our road coverage and total fuel we have burnt.

avatar-front-suspension

Our Findings on Avatar Frame & Design

So all the figures of our test result on AVATAR we sketched above were on the engine and performance related. But there are also some issues remaining to sketch out like comfort, therefore suspension and controlling characteristics of the bike. Hence let’s head again how the session was for us and what we have experienced from AVATAR.

Let’s start from the first. The handlebar of AVATAR is certainly nice looking, nice colored and silver finished. But unfortunately the ball-racer of the bike did not do a good job as it normally does & it also hampered the controllability of the bike.

The seating position and arrangement of AVATAR is good and comfortable both for the rider and pillion. The split shape of the seat is nice and looks very sporty. The saddle height is little high but it nicely matches with the bike design. But for this height you will not feel any hassle to control for sure.

The frame of the AVATAR is structured with steel made elbow-pipe. Here the rear swing arm also designed with reinforced double tube frame. We think this is nice enough to tackle the load and absorb possible pressure which also the key of good suspension through the frame.

avatar-brake

Our Findings on Suspension, Brake & Wheels

The front suspension of Avatar are telescopic & a mono at the rear which is an attractive feature of the bike but in real we have experienced a stiff suspension from the front where comparatively the rear are quite are moderate. Due to stiff front suspension alone with engine vibration makes the situation quiet unpleasant while you are even on a simple off-road or broken city-road. Frankly speaking we are not happy with that.

The AVATAR featured with nice looking front and rear hydraulic disk brake. It really is a nice package. It worked well on dry weather but in rain it lacks performance. Here both the tires of bike are tubeless. We should mention as both tire gave awesome grip on the road.

We have done several extreme corners very confidently. But again we were in fear about the suspension and brake. Other than it was very nice on the corners. And for the higher saddle height it feels quite imbalanced in the heavy traffic. This may cause struggling for the people who are shorter than usual.

avatar-odo-meter

Enhancements with Avatar

Avatar comes with some enhancements like it has an onboard music system. For entertainment on the open road build in MP3 player helps to enjoy some music or when stuck in heavy traffic jam in the city. This bike also equipped with USB cell phone charger system. So no worry of charging issues of riders gadgets on the road or tours.

The Avatar also has a fatigue alarm on the speedometer. It will turn itself ON if anyone rides more than 3 hours on the highway nonstop. So this is a helpful feature for the hardcore riders.

Speedometer is not conventional as unlike many bikes here the REV counter is digital while the speedometer is analog. It features a clock & other necessary important warning lights on the board.

It also has a parking system where you can turn on the PARKING LIGHTS with locking the neck of the bike and take the key out. So parking the bike in the dark it will be easy to find it out and keep safe and visible in the dark places.

avatar-led-tail-lamp

Good Feature of Avatar

So readers here above are the most of our findings on AVATAR from our extensive test schedule. And here is few more in favor as well as we have noted some concerns of AVATAR should take care.

  • AVATAR is a delicately designed boasted with fashionable and technological elements as the company featured. So no one can complain about the look and design.
  • Paint quality and other crafting are nice enough.
  • Control switches, levers, pedals and cables are good and decently finished.
  • Body material like plastic and metals are nice enough. We did not get any rust in any nut-bolt even after riding in rains.
  • Good & raw acceleration.
  • Featured digital dashboard.
  • You can turn on the parking lights of the bike without the key inserted in the ignition which is helpful at night when you want to park it in the dark or on the highway.

Concerns to Take Care on Avatar

  • LED DRL, signals including head lamp and Odo are not fitted properly. Water easily gets inside in the rain.
  • Odo is featured with many parameters but speedometer is surprisingly analog which demoniacally works and it surely displays wrong value.
  • Rear tire fender is not for work good as the back of the rider and pillion rider gets printed with dirt and dust of the road. It goes worst when riding in the rain.
  • Engine does not stay at idle while waiting in traffic jam and you need to rev the engine continuously for keeping the engine on. Need to setup the carburetor well
  • Head lamp illumination is usual but the high and low beam is not aligned properly.
  • Engine quality & smoothness is not good enough and needed to be better.

avatar-test-ride-review-by-team-bikebd

Feedback from Goodwheel:

Team BikeBD got the opportunity to make assessment of the test mule. At the end of our test schedule we have primarily addressed the company with our findings and they took it very seriously. They tried to solve some issues locally and fixed some of them like adjusting the handle bar position, ball racer fittings, front shock absorber and the braking mechanisms. After their initial service and maintenance we got some issues improved like:

  • Handle bar adjusted for more comfortable position and fitted softer cushioned grip which resulted comparatively comfortable handling.
  • Ball racer was adjusted but due to poor quality it did not work any better. It should have replaced with better quality product one.
  • Front suspension adjusted for better play but during our testing we didn’t get any better feedback from those either
  • Engine oil drained and gone under periodic maintenance’s, resulting we got better response from engine.

avatar-top-speed

End Note on Avatar

So guys, that’s the complete figure of AVATAR after our test schedule. We tried to get every possible finding from our testing so that the company can get maximum possible compatibility which may help them to be confident before importing and marketing this bike in BD as well as our riders can get real picture of that.

It’s a nicely crafted and modern design test mule there is no doubt. We have noticed the zeal and attraction of people on the road, at the traffic jam or in other crowd, even while parking at garage many enthusiasts was asking about the bike AVATAR. And those were really amazing experience. And, with a price tag of 1,68,990 BDT, People are more attracted to it.

We think with few more refinements it can be an adorable package for the youth. To our knowledge the company has already done many refinements to this bike after we tested it including ball racer, break, suspension and vibration issues and they are continually doing so. We wish our best to Goodwheel Bangladesh.

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Engine Performance, Top Speed & Mileage

This bike has 124.5 cc single cylinder, four stroke engine which pumps out 11  HP and 9.20 NM torque. Acceleration of rks 125 is very smooth. This bike accelerates very fast from 4500 rpm to 7500 rpm. I managed to reach from 0 km/hr to 60 km/hr within 5.93 seconds. Upto 97/98 kmph acceleration is good. Then it takes time to reach at top speed.

I’ve got top speed 113 km/hr(without pillion) on airport road, Dhaka. I’ve a video of riding this bike on airport road. You may watch it @ Youtube.   Engine creates very low sound (even at 90+ km/hr) which become negligible after wearing helmet.

keeway-rks-125-meter

Rks 125 is a vibration free machine. I don’t feel any vibration even at 100+ km/hr. When the bike was new (before crossing 2500 km) I got mileage 35/36 kmpl in city and 42/43 kmpl on free road. After riding 2500 km, I tuned my bike and from then till now I get mileage 43-44 km/l in city and 49-50 km/l on free road.

Though this bike don’t have kick starter I never faced any problem to start it with the self starter. 2016 model of Rks 125 has been upgraded with kick starter. I didn’t face any engine overheating issue.

In 17 months I’ve ridden 20000+ km on it but it never troubled at all.  As per the user’s manual of Rks 125, this bike is designed to ride on highway. I found highway riding on this bike is more fun than city riding.

keeway-rks-125-review

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Breaking, Controlling & Comfort

Front single disk break of 240 mm diameter and rear drum break give perfect breaking. Front telescopic fork (travels 4.3 inches), rear coil spring (travels 2.6 inches) and good sitting position ensure comfortable ride.

I never felt any back pain. Combination of 110/80-17 rear tyre, 90/90-17 front tyre, well designed frame, good seat height and the efficient breaking has made the bike very easy to control.

Tours with KEEWAY RKS 125

I love touring on motorbike and have done several tours with my rks 125. Some of them are:

  1. Dhaka – Gazipur- Sreepur and surrounding places – Dhaka ( around 200 km)
  2. Dhaka –Comilla – Dhaka (220+ km)
  3. Dhaka- Jamuna Bridge – Dhaka (274 Km)
  4. Dhaka-Sylhet and surrounding places – Jaflong- Dhaka (749 km)
  5. Dhaka- Barisal- Pirojpur- Dhaka ( 651 km)
  6. This bike performed well in every tour. Jaflong tour was really great.

You may read the travel story of my Jaflong tour at Facebook.

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Changed Spare Parts

  1. Rear wheel bearing ( once @7500km)
  2. Chain spocket set (once @9000+ km)
  3. Rear break shoe ( once @10000+km)
  4. Front disk break pad ( once @12000+km)
  5. Spark plug ( once @ 14000+km)

keeway-rks-125-feature

How do I take care of my KEEWAY RKS 125

I get the chain of my bike adjusted and lubed, air filter and spark plug cleaned @ every 500 km interval. I change engine oil @ 1000 km interval.

At every 2000 km interval, I wash the chain with kerosene and change engine oil filter. From the beginning till now I’ve been using Gulf 20w40 and it costs me only tk 400. I get my bike washed once/twice a month.

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Positive Sides

  1. Smooth engine
  2. Vibration free machine
  3. Super controlling and breaking
  4. Good seating position
  5. Good ground clearance
  6. No back pain in long ride
  7. No engine overheating issue
  8. Soft, smooth and soundless gear shifting
  9. Awesome look
  10. After sales service is too good

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Negative Sides

  1. Low mileage as a 125 cc bike
  2. This bike looks smaller in size
  3. Rear suspension could have been better
  4. Engine sound is not sweet to hear
  5. Lack of service center outside Dhaka city

KEEWAY RKS 125 – After Sales Service

In Dhaka city the main service center of keeway is at Tejgaon ( opposite to Nabisco Biscuit Factory). Each person of Service team is very cordial and takes care so much about the problems of their customers.

All spare parts are available at the Speedoz’s head office at Mohakhali and also at Central keeway service centre, Tejgaon, Dhaka. Outside Dhaka keeway have not enough number of service centre but they send their service team periodically to their dealer point.

keeway-rks-125-top-speed

KEEWAY RKS 125 – Recommendations For Users:

So far I know, most of the Rks 125 users pour 1000 ml engine oil into the engine oil chamber. According to the user’s manual of Rks 125, oil capacity of the engine is 1400ml. Common amount of refilled engine oil is 1200ml. I’ll recommend all the rks 125 users to pour 1200 ml engine oil into engine oil chamber. It’ll make the engine sound sweeter and acceleration smoother.

To avoid engine overheating issue get the perfect tuing of your bike, shift gear below 5000 rpm. In long tour take a break of 10 minutes at every 50 km interval. It’s good for engine.

Modification on KEEWAY RKS 125

I’ve got both the tires of my bike tubeless. It cost me only 600*2= 1200 BDT.

Conclusion

Inspite of being Chinese motorcycle Keeway rks 125 is a very good bike. I’ve ridden on it 20000+ km and till now I’m satisfied with it’s performance. Actually, I didn’t expect so much from a Chinese bike. For any query feel free to contact with me @ Mehedi Hasan

Suzuki Gixxer SF Ownership Review By Saad

Suvro SenNovember 26, 2016

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Hello,I am Dr.Abdul Munem Saad, lecturer of physiology Patuakhali Medical College Hospital. Today I am going to share my experience of riding Suzuki Gixxer SF. At first I have to confess a truth that I did not have any interest about bikes till my 26 years of age. But after joining as a BCS cadre in Upazila Health Complex, I was in a serious problem . I had to move to Zilla Headquarter and visit community clinics frequently. So bike became my necessity and I was not comfortable enough being a pillion of other’s bike as I am 6ft 4 inch tall and having 110 kg weight .

suzuki-gixxer-sf

Episode of Purchasing:

At first on August 2014 after learning how to ride I was so excited about riding( at 26 years of age!!!!) that without thinking I bought a Walton Fusion NX 125.It was the greatest mistake of my life.I faced serious hardship to sell that crap. After that I bought Hero Xtreme Sports which was very strong and heavy but alas it couldn’t satisfied me due to it’s annoying engine sound and disgusting key position.

Than finally in February 2016 I bought Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP from Karmounnoyon Barisal. I was in love with that bike at my very first sight. When I rode it for the first time I felt I am riding on a machine which just moves like butter…smoothnes at its best. By the grace of Almighty I have already driven 25000 km.Now I think I can share some of my opinion regarding the bike, Suzuki Gixxer SF.

gixxer-sf

Positive Aspects:

  1. Look: Look of the bike is just awesome.
  2. Speedometer: The speedometer is total digital and backlight gives awesome visibilty. It has got 2 trip meters and most importantly gear indicator.
  3. The engine is a master piece.Very minimum vibration, very attractive sound and readypickup is fabulous. It can make you fly whenever you like.
  4. The suspensions are very good. As it is a sports commuter the front suspension is a bit hard for safe high speed cornerning. Back is mono suspension and seven Step adjustable.Gives you awesome comfort in bumpy roads.
  5. The brakes are just awesome. Front is from world-class Bybre band. Performs superbly.Back is drum. Performance is average. But when used together properly the braking is awesome.
  6. The aerodynamic kit helps quite effectively. Its not a piece of plastic by any means. It is developed in the same tunnel where legendary Hyabusa and GSX R and other racing bikes have developed. So it is very efficient.
  7. The tyres are adjacent with the road. Those will never disappoint you during panic braking or in slippery wet road.
  8. Lots have a wrong idea that Gixxer SF is light. No way it is light,it is 139 kg. Even heavier than Fazer Fi V2. Weight is very well distributed and that’s why balance is superb.
  9. Last but not the least Fuel efficiency. This bike have SEP(Suzuki Eco Performance)Technology. And I have found 43+ in highway and 41+ in city roads and it’s tested.

suzuki-gixxer-engine

Nothing in this world is perfect.Perfection is just the standard.Which can not be achieved by anybody other than Allah. So let’s have a look about its negative aspects.

Negative Aspects:

  1. Ground clearance is disgusting.Hits every speed breaker which are unplanned. But doesn’t hit planned and well built speed breakers. But It does not hit the kit,it hits lower metalic guards.
  2. Electric wiring and switches should be bit more better in quality in a bike of premium 150 segment like gixxer sf.
  3. After sales service of RANCON is not upto the mark. It should be improved a lot.
  4. Built quality is not bad but as it is a CKD bike the assembling of RANCON’s Vobanipur unit should be improved. Plastic parts are not well assembled sometimes.Loose screws are also found. They should be careful about that.
  5. This bike needs extra care for longevity and should not be used in bad roads. Its not a bike for rough road. You can ride for hours but in good road.
  6. The head lamp is average. Not too good and not too bad.
  7. The handlebars are good but there is scope for improvement.

suzuki-gixxer-brake

ENGINE OIL: Suzuki 20w40 or Mobil 10w40…These two are best.

Top Speed: 107km/h..I was not brave enough to accelerate more.

Parts Changed: Nothing until now.

After service performance : Same as before,no change.

suzuki-gixxer-sf-motogp

Break In Period:

The user manual of suzuki is awesome. Here the instructions about break in period is given in detail.Should be followed for better engine performance and fuel efficiency.

suzuki-gixxer-sf-review-bangladesh

So,readers that’s all I have in my mind about Suzuki Gixxer SF. Though it has negative sides but it is a bike of joy and comfort. Most importantly very less chance of accident if you drive with sense and concentration. And don’t forget to service the bike in time. Thanks again for reading this annoying review….Oh….friends please wear a helmet because you are very precious for your parents, wife and children….Happy driving…Safe driving.

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Ownership Review By Mahir Zaman

Suvro SenOctober 19, 2016

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Hi everyone this is Mahir Zaman , I’ve Studied LLB and currently self Employed. Owning a Motorcycle has always been a dream of mine , which apparently came true quite a long time ago and i had the opportunity of owning a few bikes from different brands. So from there now I am with Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and here is my Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Ownership Review.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-head-lamp

I feel that a motorcycle isn’t just a vehicle to move you from place to place- its an experience every time you ride it. Whatsoever I had a Walton Prizm ,two Hero Hunk (S/D And D/D) , Tvs Apache RTR and a Lifan KPR. Today i’m going to give a review about the motorcycle which i proudly own now i.e the Bajaj Pulsar As 150 a.k.a the Adventure Sports 150 i’m riding it since January 2016 and I was one of the first three persons to get the hands on the AS 150 for the first time when it launched in Bangladesh.

Since then the journey has been smooth and comforting. And now I am also Co Founder of the group named Adventure Sports Club dedicated to the Bajaj Pulsar AS150 users. Now i’m going to discuss about some in depth details about this motorcycle.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-owner-experience

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Design

Bajaj has done a very big upgrade in their R&D sector as The Adventure Sports is a big example of it. The motorcycle borrows a few details from its sibling the ”NS” but looks a totally fresh and new design and the company has named it ‘Alpha-Male Styling’.

The AS 150 is also the first motorcycle introduced in our country which has a underbelly Exhaust and as far as i know that it helps reduce a great amount of emission, plus you don’t have to worry about a burnt leg or damaging the exhaust pipe.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-test-ride-experience

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Engine/Performance

The motorcycle is powered by a 149.5 CC Air-cooled, 4 stroke engine which pumps out a power of 17ps (HIGHEST IN IT’S CLASS) @9500 rpm and a max torque of 13nm @ 7500 rpm respectively. I’m getting a milleage of approx 40kmpl. The AS 150 weighs at 143kg making it a kilo lighter than the previous generation bike.

The engine is surprisingly smooth with a better responsive gear box and has absolute no power loss no matter how many hours I ride continuously. I’ve managed to get a top speed of 130km/h at Jamuna Bridge. The acceleration is very impressive and it starts gaining immersive power at the mid range. I also had a few drag races with its main rival ”the GIXXER” which apparently is no match with the AS in the Mid/top range.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-mileage

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Handling and Breaking

The AS 150 is the first bike in its class to feature a perimeter frame and projector headlamps. Thanks to the perimiter frame the handling and maneuvering is top class and i personally loved the cornering with my upgraded tyres, as the stock ones are totally not upto the mark hence i’ve replaced them with CEAT all weather 120/80/17 at the rear and Pirelli 100/80/17 front respectively.

The brakes are good enough but nothing special with stock tyres, now im getting better performance with upgraded tyres and I still feel that they should have given BYBRE or NISSIN Caliper for better performance.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-top-speed

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Suspension and Seating

The suspension setup in the AS 150 is on the softer side and easily manages bumps and potholes. Taking the Pulsar AS 150 off road is also not a problem. The 170 mm ground clearance makes sure that it tackles almost any kind of flat surface. I must say that this is one hell of a touring machine!

Seating is very comfortable for the rider which is neither too sporty or too casual but is perfect specially for long tours and doesn’t really hurt your back much. The pillion seat is partially comfortable.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-performance

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Pros:

  1. Good balance and handling.
  2. Superb Engine power and no vibration or overheating issues.
  3. Very powerful headlights 55w( best in its class).
  4. Fastest motorcycle in terms of speed in its class.
  5. Good fuel efficiency.
  6. Very Good for long rides it doesn’t cause any back pain or engine power loss (Self tested).
  7. Breaking is impressive but not with stock tyres.

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Cons:

  1. Height of the motorcycle is high and this may cause problems to ppl of 5-5.7 feet.
  2. Size and performance of stock tyre is not up to the mark.
  3. Mud spit is on the higher side especially in rainy days as the stock mudguard doesn’t do the job properly.
  4. Engine requires 1200 ml oil which is a bit hassle for riders as there is no option of a 1200ml bottle.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-ownership-review-2016

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 – Verdict

Comparing to the current motorcycle market scenario in Bangladesh I would say that this is a bang for buck and you get what you pay for in terms of quality and performance. Although a few things could have been improved but hey this is a value for money performance motorcycle!

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 Ownership Review By Zia

Suvro SenOctober 6, 2016

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Hello readers, I am Ziaur Rahman Siddiqui. I live in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. I am an Administrator and former stunt rider of a renowned stunt riding group of Bangladesh that is Haunt Ryderz (HRZ). This is the 2nd time I am writing a bike review in BikeBD. I am also a proud owner of a Bajaj Pulsar AS150 & now I am going to share with the BikeBD readers about the ownership review of my bike. So here is Bajaj Pulsar AS150 – Ownership Review.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-ownership-review

Back of Bajaj Pulsar AS150

The Bajaj Pulsar AS150 the “Adventure Sport” is one of the best bikes in its segment available today in market. With its bold new look and a powerful engine with 16.8 horse power, this is definitely a bike that satiates the thrill -seeking needs of performance bike enthusiasts across the country. Bajaj has come up with a totally new look in the Pulsar AS 150, for the past decade the pulsar models had more or less a similar look in the bikes.

The Adventure Sport can be said the 2nd generation of the pulsar as it has perimeter frame, projection head light, new shape tail light, sporty split seat, new shape alloy rings, nitrox mono shock absorber.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-head-lamp

This quarter fairing bike looks macho and very eye catching with its projection head lamp and muscular fuel tank with 12 liters fuel capacity. The shape of the tail lights is different from the old pulsar models; it is given a slightly curved look that adds to the beauty of the bike.

The powerful engine proves itself to the rider during each and every gearshift. While riding the bike in top gear with forceful gusts of wind passing by, the aerodynamic shape of the bike made me feel like I was totally in the comfort zone, no matter what the speed was. Bikers who like to ride fast and travel long distances are going to love this bike, as it is powerful, durable, economical and comfortable with a pillion rider.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-engine

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 – Mechanical Advancement

The bike has a very crispy throttle response, it has a 5 speed gear box, it is powered by a 149.5 cc single-cylinder, twin-spark, 4-valve, air-cooled, DTS-i engine which produces 17 PS of power at 9,500 rpm. I have completed 4,000 kilometers so far with this bike and I found that this bike has a good acceleration, good visibility during night rides because of the projection head lamp, comfortable riding position, good handling and control which offers a solid riding experience.

The fuel economy is also a bright spot, as I got 38- 40 km/L in the city and 43-45 km/L in the highway, which is pretty decent for such a powerful bike. . The bike accelerates pretty fast and I was very satisfied with the top speed I reached with my Adventure Sport motorcycle, it was 132 km/h.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-meter

The speedo meter has a new shape from the previous pulsar models, it has a digital speedo meter and taco meter in center. Though the gear indicator is not there but a digital clock has been added and a logo of Bajaj at the left side of the meter which adds a beauty as a whole.

Back lights in the chaps were there in the previous Pulsar bikes, which is one of the unique feature Pulsar bikes has, as the other bikes of this segment doesn’t offer this lights. Previously the back lights in the chaps were white and this time it is blue light which looks mind boggling in the dark.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-test-ride-experience

Comfort Zone of Bajaj Pulsar AS150

The AS 150 is equipped with nitrox mono shock absorber at the back and telescopic front fork. Both the front and rear suspensions are on the softer side. The bike smoothly runs over the pot holes and bumpy roads. Rear shock absorber has adjustable options so the stiffness of the bike can be adjusted as required.

The bike comes with MRF tubeless rubbers on both the wheels, the front tyre size is (80/100-17) and the rear tyre size is (110/90 – 17) which is same as that of the current Pulsar 150 (UG 4.5) but what I felt is Bajaj should have given a wider rear tyre. The AS 150 is a muscular motorcycle, rear tyre looks pretty thin on the bike.

Bajaj offers a 240 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum on the AS 150, applying both the brake 50-50 brings the bike at a halt. Previous pulsar had the hydraulic brake chambers from “BYBRE” but in AS 150 there is no name mentioned on it.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-disk-brake

Few Flaws of Bajaj Pulsar AS150

In Bajaj Pulsar AS150 there no changes in the braking system and the front suspensions so, I felt the braking system should have been upgraded along with the front telescopic suspensions like the competitor bikes FZ-S or Gixxer. I am quite sure an optional ABS (anti-lock braking system) and rear disc brake on the bike would have been much appreciated by the riders at this stage of Pulsar bikes.

I rode the AS 150 both in on road and off road conditions, it has a good ground clearance and smooth leaning capacity. The bike is very fun to ride while cruising or riding fast. But this bike becomes a bit difficult maneuvering in the city traffic.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-performance

There are not too many negative sides of the bike but I found the gear shifting is not smooth, gear shifts needs more effort with the ankle to up shift a gear. Sometimes while shifting the gear, it remains somewhere in between two gears making cranky sound from the engine, at that time it needs immediate clutch in and again an up shift.

The bike can be difficult to ride for a rider below 5 feet 7 inch tall because of the height of the bike. Other than the gear shifting issue I didn’t face any other problems yet. I use Motul 20W-50 grade engine oil and go for servicing the bike as recommended.

bajaj-pulsar-as150-owner-experience

Thanks to the honorable readers for managing time to read this review. Lastly I would like to request all the riders please put your helmets on while riding, ensure your safety first. It’s better to be safe than sorry and always remember a biker without a helmet is a king without his CROWN!

Yamaha FZS vs Honda CB Trigger Comparison – Owner Experience

Suvro SenOctober 1, 2016

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Hello Guys I am Fazle Rabbi from Tangail. I am a banker by profession and a bike enthusiast. Today I want to bring a comparative analysis between the RIVALS: Yamaha FZS vs Honda CB Trigger according to my personal experience. So here is my Yamaha FZS vs Honda CB Trigger Comparison – Owner Experience.

yamaha-fzs-vs-honda-cb-trigger-comparison-owner-experience

I have been biking since 1998. At my early days of 98 I rode on my dad’s Honda MBX-80, then Yamaha Rx, Honda CDI 100 etc. But Yamaha FZS is my first bike which I bought by my own money. I bought it second hand and drove it almost 1.5 years. Then I bought brand new Honda CB Trigger in June 2015 from Anis Motors of Mymensingh and still driving it. In fact I shifted from FZS to Trigger to change my taste as well as testing the brand new one.

I have been following BikeBD since 2013. Very curiously I have been observing the experience and comments of other bikers around the country. Then I thought why should not I share my experience about biking? So now here I came with this Yamaha FZS vs Honda CB Trigger Comparison.

honda-cb-trigger-owner-experience

Honda CB Trigger Riding Experience:

I have made long tours with both of the bikes. With Yamaha I traveled Sreemongol, Bahirab Kishorganj, Birishiri etc and with Trigger I traveled Rajshahi, Sreemongol, Patuakhali, Jessore, Kuakata and so on. So here is my personal experience on Honda CB Trigger.

Things that attracts me on Honda CB Trigger:

  • Very agile bike, par with FZS
  • Sitting posture is good for long travel, no arm or back pain
  • Smooth acceleration and long gear ration is blessing in highway.
  • Good handling though the bike is long enough.
  • Crisp clutch.

Things that irritates me with Honda CB Trigger:

  • Long gear ratio sucks at heavy traffics.
  • The remarkably stupid typical Honda switch gear with ac head light.
  • Plastics used in side panel and the color on exhaust pipe is not up the mark, at least we do not deserve it from company like HONDA.
  • Rear tire is of hard compound and tend to skid at high speed, several times I faced this problem, that is why I have decided to change the rear tire with wider one.
  • Acceleration is good but not better than FZS; it is my personal experience, other can differ.
  • Gear could have been smoother, front shock absorber is ok but not a wow.
  • Front head light styling could have been better for big bike look.

yamaha-fzs-owner-experience

Yamaha FZS Riding Experience:

Yamaha FZS is also a cool bike. The riding experience is really enjoyable. But during my riding time I have figured out some advantages and disadvantages of Yamaha FZS and here are those.

Things that attracts me on Yamaha FZS:

  • Most agile bike and a great fun to ride at any occasion.
  • Excellent braking, just mid blowing with its stock tire.
  • Short gear ratio is ideal for moving in traffic.
  • Best in class handling
  • Smoothest gear and very able shock absorber.
  • Top quality plastic panel.
  • Bike is felt fully grounded whatever the speed is.
  • Availability of spare parts.

Something that irritates me with Yamaha FZS :

  • Head light should be more luminous.
  • Long drive sometimes gives wrist pain.
  • Pillion discomfort.
  • Mileage, but that hardy matters.

yamaha-fzs-vs-honda-cb-trigger-comparison-ownership-experience

Verdict – Yamaha FZS vs Honda CB Trigger Comparison

Some issues to say that I have driven 13000 km in my Trigger. In this time I only change my Spark plug and Air filter once. I use Motul 7100 after 5000 km and get the expected performance of my bike. As I am a little heavy guy, my top speed is 107 till now. Anyway as a biker I always request you to wear quality helmet and other safety guards and must ride safely. Because life is yours and you have to save it by your own means.

Finally I want to say that though Honda CB Trigger is a great bike, still the senior Yamaha FZS has the edge. Still Yamaha FZS is a better than Honda CB Trigger specially in terms handling and mostly in braking. That is all I experience from riding both of the bikes more than 25000 km.

Regards,

Shoshi rabbi

Naked vs Faired :: The Unsolved Combat In The World Of Motorbikes

Suvro SenSeptember 30, 2016

Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterShare on LinkedInPin on PinterestDigg thisEmail this to someone

Today we have come with a very significant point of motorbikes and choosing the perfect motorcycle for anyone.  Don’t think that we’re talking about some bike brands or about any specific bike; we just compared two categories of bike. One is naked, another is faired.  First, many people don’t know, what’s a naked bike? A naked bike is a motorbike with no fairing like windscreen or a lot of stuff at the front for many reasons.  Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ is the examples of naked bikes whereas Gixxer SF, Fazer is their faired versions. These types of bike are also called or “standard” bikes.  It is the oldest versions of motorcycle.

Gixxer Vs Gixxer SF
Gixxer Vs Gixxer SF

Why Naked Motorbike?

  1. Upright and comfortable Riding position.
  2. Lightweight bikes.
  3. Easy to control.
  4. Quick turning, leaning and quick escape too.
  5. Need a small space to go with a naked one.
  6. It’s cheaper than a faired sport bike, so can be a better option for a beginner.
  7. Less maintain costs.
  8. Perfect for long and comfortable ride.
  9. More fuel economy.
  10. Best for the beginner at all.

Why Faired Motorbike?

  1. Good Looking and faired.
  2. More top speed can be gained.
  3. Better for cornering.
  4. Crash protection is much stronger than a naked one.
  5. It is more aerodynamic.
  6. No problem at highest speed like air resistance.
  7. Good protection for engine and other parts.
  8. Better performance.

So is it simply the comfort that has made the exposed naked one stay and give a solid rivalry to the faired ones or is it something more than that? How about we attempt to dissect this. A naked motorcycle is lighter (obviously) than a faired motorcycle which gives it more kick in view of better energy to weight proportion. It is more suited for roadway rides cruising at sensible velocities. In any case, the naked bikes of the late times have broken the myth of being moderate and less intense. The top speed is difficult to gain however as a result of wind impact that happens at high speeds because of poor streamlined features. The higher center of gravity (CoG) of the naked bikes likewise makes it more deft and simple to move every day. No fairing additionally implies less cash to spend if there should arise an occurrence of a fall as the fairing is more inclined to get hurt if there should arise an occurrence of an accident.

But, the above arguments don’t prove anything about any kinds of bikes. Because there are many more things to consider for choosing a bike.  Rider’s riding style is a main fact here. It can match with any of these two. Another point should be noted that, a naked bike can be used in any types of roads, highway, off-road, racing track, and many more. But you have to face some difficulties with a full faired sport bike at some situations. In a crowded city like Dhaka, a naked bike can give you the best performance from all perspectives. Can accelerate faster, can escape through a little gap, and can turn easily. But if you are in a situation where there are a lots of air, dirt, dust then it’s better to go for a sport bike for its fairing body. And it is easy to gain top speed on a faired bike of same horse power, torque and other configurations.

Confused while choosing Suzuki Gixxer Or Gixxer SF . Yamaha FZ-S Or Fazer? They Have the same configurations.  One is naked, another is faired. No other differences. And this can make a gap between the performances of the two kinds.

Now take decision. No one can win here.

Motorcycle Drag race, one of the most favorite in our country. Because, where there is no place or track for racing, racing on the open road is better for rider’s mental satisfaction. Most of our young riders often do this among or between them. There are no rules, no limitations. But, it can be considered as one kind of drag race because of short distance racing. But it’s the most dangerous form of racing for anyone even for a professional racer. Many facts work in case of drag race. And in a country like Bangladesh, drag racing is another name of death.

Regarding the facts of safety, no one should participate in drag race in Bangladesh because of our road condition, bikes, population and many more. But the most happening race is drag race and at the open public highway. Since we can’t stop them from doing this, we can just give some tips for them about the drag race.

Some facts are very important in drag racing.

  • The Motorbike you have
  • Body Position
  • Launching the bike
  • Controlling

The drag racing is actually nothing but the game of acceleration. The faster you can accelerate, you can win. Now, which kind of bikes to choose?  Have you any idea for this? Though in drag racing all the bikes should have same CC, but after that some major facts work here.

  1. Motorbikes with more Torque, Horsepower are not a vital fact here.
  2. Motorbikes with less weight can accelerate faster.
  3. Aerodynamics can change the game.
  4. Narrow Bikes are better

Torque means the capacity of a bike to accelerate faster. Though torque and horsepower have a relation, horsepower can basically help your bike to get maximum speed. Not maximum acceleration. And logically less weight is very helpful for accelerating any bike with minimum power. For avoiding the friction of air, a bike with better Aerodynamics is always preferred. And a narrow bike can play a vital role here.

Now, come to our main point. Rider’s duty for winning the race. Perfection is very important here for each and every moment. Using all the properties of a bike most efficiently can make you winner without having a better performance bike too. I want to highlight some facts here.

  1. Body position
  2. Launching the bike
  3. Clutch control
  4. Shifting gear

Body position is most important fact here. According to the laws of physics, you should Lean your whole body towards the front of the bike. Because the weight of the whole bike will shift more to the front side which make it easy to accelerate faster. When a bike is accelerating, the center of gravity shifted towards the front wheel. For more acceleration, do it as perfectly as possible. Leaning whole body also helps to avoid the air resistance.

A good launch is needed for winning any drag race. Our main aim is to start the bike accelerating as hard as possible, for doing this, we have to manage the throttle and clutch effectively to control the wheel spin and stop the front wheel from rising off the ground.

We’ll Discuss About Another Many More Facts About Drag Race Next. Stay With Us.
